Great Experience!
I decided to take my wife for our 15th anniversary in April of 2024. I made reservations online noting it was going to be our anniversary and from the time we walked in, everyone wished us a happy anniversary. Our food was excellent, and our waitress Britanny was very attentive and super sweet. At the end of our meal, we were treated to a baked Alaska which was a nice touch. We will definitely be back for another special occasion. Thank you again for a truly special occasion we will never forget!

I previously posted on Open Table about a poor experience we had for our pre Valentine Day dinner. The general manager Joe Wiley reached out to me to ask us to give them another try and have dinner on them. I hesitated thinking they would just overwhelm us with kindness and surround us with waitstaff just to make amends. However we love this place and were so shocked about this experience that we said we would try them again. I was absolutely wrong. The manager on duty that night Aaron came to our table and apologized for the previous experience. The server was Mathew (I think) and he was amazing. No sucking up just pleasant, funny, knowledgeable and overall a great server. We enjoyed a nice bottle of wine, shared a beautiful salad and my husband had the redfish ponchatrain and I had blue crab stuffed lobster tails. Both meals were perfectly cooked and were delicious. For dessert we had their special chocolate cherry cheesecake which melted in your mouth. Thank you to Joe to reaching out and things right. We will definitely be back.

Bread was not hot , wine was good , appetizer was good but not great and the miso glazed sea bass tasted fishy. We expected more from what was a great restaurant.

Was served an alcohol drink when I was very clear about which mocktail I wanted (even asked a question about it to my waitress). In the beginning, we were promptly seated. My date and I made sure to notify the waitress that we do not consumer alcohol. Ordered the spicy blackberry cooler which is a mocktail after confirming with the waitress that it wasnโt too spicy. After she asked me for my drink choice for another round, I had to double check with her that my drink was not alcoholic after she suggested several margarita options which made my date suspect that there was alcohol in my first drink. She was โconfusedโ and then โcheckedโ with the bar (after she told us that non alcoholic drinks are usually served in a tall glass and my drink was served in a short glass). 10 minutes later she comes back and notifies us that my drink was in fact an alcoholic drink. No apology, just a matter of fact tone. We asked for the manager who was as told that we โsaid that we wanted a margaritaโ when the name of the mocktail didnโt have that word in it. Odd choice to blame the customer who clearly has a food allergenโฆ No apology or anything from either the manager or the waitress. Disappointing service and quality standards from a restaurant/company that prides itself on customer service. Iโd recommend another restaurant if you have food allergies: Landryโs is not in the business of ensuring you wonโt have to eat food with allergens. There are plenty of seafood options on Hughes Landing that arenโt Landryโs that will take care of you better.

We attended a private dinner here in Oct. We were shown to a private room, with an attached balcony overlooking the lake. Extremely relaxing, quiet, with views of the water where we enjoyed cocktails and appetizers before dinner. Our dedicated waiter was outstanding, providing attentive service both during cocktails and dinner. I was very pleased to learn they had 18 year old, McCallan, Sherry Oak, single malt scotch. Outstanding ! The McCallan went wonderfully with the jumbo shrimp, and crab cake appetizers. I had several. For dinner we both had the lobster bisque. I ordered the Sesame Seared tuna, and my wife had the New England Scallops. It was excellent seafood, just outstanding. I would highly recommend Truluck's for both the quality of their seafood and the service. Both were exceptionally good.

We tried this restaurant for the first time to celebrate our 41st anniversary. We had a reservation for 6:45 pm on a Tuesday night and the place was very busy. We were seated immediately, acknowledged our anniversary and brought menus. We ordered a bottle of wine and chose two large stone crabs with mustard sauce as our appetizer. They were beautifully presented on crushed ice with lemon. They were delicious and very fresh. I ordered trout almandine that was perfectly cooked. My husband enjoyed redfish ponchatrain and it too was fresh and perfectly cooked. Our server was excellent. She checked on us several times making sure we wanted for nothing. She said we would be treated to a complimentary dessert for our anniversary and we chose the baked Alaska. Let me tell you that was one delicious dessert. We ate every bite of it. The restaurant was beautifully decorated and had great ambiance. We will definitely return very soon!
Be the first to ReplyLucky we found Truluck!
We were just wondering around Woodlands to see the Waterway & googled a random restaurant. We like seafood so we chose Truluck. We were very impressed with Truluck! The seafood was fresh and delicious! We were there to celebrate our daughterโs graduation. We had raw yellowfin tuna with avocado, lobster bisque (yummy & chunky lobster), scallops and redfish with shrimp & crawfish sauce. They were all so good! And the lava cake was amazing! The service was impeccable & Pip really took good care of us. Service rocked! Will totally recommend Truluck to my NY friends when we go back home!

Started out with valet shut down because of rain. The guy came out but told us to park ourselves. Ok for guests to get soaked. Next - we followed in three folks in gym shorts, tshirts and baseball cap for the guy. At these prices - donโt expect to be next to a guy in gym shorts and a ball cap. Food delivery was moderate to slow. Quality was good. This used to be one of the high end - premium places in the Woodlands. Slipped to a nice place with an expensive menu.

The ambience in this facility is definitely top notch! I sat at the bar area on a Wednesday night and the service was outstanding. I had the seabass with creamed spinach as well as an original old-fashioned. The fish was fresh, and the taste was amazing. Will do it again!

Truluck's is our go to for any and every occasion! Whether is a spur of the moment date night, celebrating a special occasion or having a nice family dinner, the service is always stellar, the food is consistent and everything is always on point. We are frequent guests and have always had a 5-Star experience every single time.

We enjoyed the atmosphere and the service from Jordon and her coworkers was great.
The food was overwhelmingly ample.
A lovely alternative to the traditional cooking at home.
Anniversary dinner
King crab leg with knuckle was overcooked, overpriced @$89, and poorly presented (maybe 1/2 lb. meat, when was presented as 1-1.5) they just put the leg on a plain white plate and served it. Not very impressive.
I had miso glazed chilean seabass, and it was delicious.
Service was great, but tainted by poor crab.
Excellent dining experience
This was our 1st trip to Truluck's. The service was impeccable and we were extremely impressed our they handled our visit. From the waitress, bus boy and management, they all went out of there way to make sure our dining experience was wonderful. The food and drinks were all amazing. The crab cake and lobster bisque were our favorites, but the entrees did not disappoint either. We will surely be back when we are in town again.

THE best dinner out in two years. While following all Covid protocols for safety, the team at Truluckโs made dinner feel normal! The tables were socially distanced but there were no empty tables making the room feel alive. Food and service were excellent. The live music was the perfect add to the ambiance. In short, we felt โnormalโ in these abnormal times. What a treat. Truluckโs in The Woodlands will always be a stop when we are in Houston. Thanks Truluckโs!

This was perhaps our 5-6 th trip to Truluck's. Do not expect we'll ever go back. I do not know the hardship that the pandemic has placed upon restaurants with service and cooks...and managers. We went for a very special occasion. The service was beyond poor (actually it got to be ridiculous) and my steak was ice cold. For the money, I would rate our experience at this establishment an F-. I'm actually surprised they presented us with a bill.

Loved the restaurant. Great ambience matched with live acoustic music. Food was spectacular, I highly recommend the filet and king crab; parmigian mashed potatoes are a must. It was my friend's birthday and our kind server gave us a complimentary baked alaska, a unique dessert.

We love Trulucks. We have 2 in Austin, this is our first time here in the Woodlands. Met 4 other friends for dinner. Their cocktails are beautiful. I had a margarita or 4! The guys had manhattans and such๐ฅ we ordered Calamari and Crab plate for starters we shared! It was yummy. Then I had the salmon which was loads to eat could not finish it. And asparagus it was Devine. The others ordered the sea bass which was a specialty dish. And honestly not sure what everyone ordered. I only cared about my food! ๐ we could not do desert we were all stuffed! Haha great place to stroll to. Really friendly and knowledgeable staff on all of their items - dang they must study it all! Plenty of people there all spaced out safely! Wear a mask walking in but then get rid of it๐ณ Lovely decor very nice restaurant.
Be the first to ReplyNot their best dish!
We have dined here many times with very nice results. This time the Kauai Jumbo Shrimp with garlic pineapple sauce and sweet coconut rice was a special. I asked for the shrimp to be well done. My first bite was a stringy semi-raw shrimp. I did not taste pineapple in the sauce. Under the shrimp was a large semi-solid moulded disk that appeared browned on the outside. It was mushy rice moulded into a disk. I sent the dish back and reordered a small filet. Typically the dinner would be removed from the bill and the replacement comped under these circumstances. Later we noticed the shrimp dish was still on the bill. We will try again but be more cautious.
