Conflicted
Took son, his wife, their daughter, and my wife to Trust for our sonโs birthday dinner. All butbI enjoyed the dinner. Our waiter told us how he recommends that each guest order two items from the menu. Items are small and, good, but pricey. I asked for swordfish. He should have known that it was not available, returned five minutes later to inform us, and, in what I thought was sort of a bait and switch, highly recommended another fish, quite a bit more expensive. It was undercooked. Many of the items were good, but we ordered far too many. If I ever return-somewhat unlikely-I will order one item, and let the others share if they so desire.

After reading the glowing online reviews of this place, we had high expectations of an enjoyable dinner here. Unfortunately, our dining experience turned out to be quite disappointing; both the food and service were noticeably inconsistent. The dinner started off well. The dining room interior with floor length glass windows was beautiful. We ordered a prefix menu. The first course, a crisp baby gem salad, tasted good. The beef tartar that followed was just too salty. Several ensuing dishes were salty as well. Service was not as attentive as one would expect from a restaurant of this caliber.

I am Vegan and the waiter made a special dish for me as there was few options for me to have at this restaurant. Everyone in our party loved their meal, and the service was amazing, but the one thing that turned me off is they add a 4% tax on your bill for a cost of living charge for the employees that you can request to have removed from your billโฆif the employer is worried about his bottom line, add a dollar or $2 to the entree price or pay your employees more money, even though they earn healthy tips at this restaurants. I have never seen this on in a restaurant before!

We used to appreciate this restaurant especially Sundays for brunch But recently for twice we were deceived and we decided to not to come back. There is young lady, she is maybe a supervisor, very unpleasant. It seems she is here to help the restaurant to completely close soon

My friends all highly recommended Trust for good reason. The food is great. I made reservations for brunch on a Saturday for 2 but then my bf found out his mom was going to be in SD the same weekend we were, so I bumped up the reservation to 4. We arrived at the same time from our respective hotels and were quickly seated on the patio. The patio is dog-friendly too! The menus were handed out and we got to chatting so much that the server had to interrupt us for our drink orders. I asked for the Raspberry thyme mimosa and his mom got the Aperol Spritz. The guys both ordered OJ. Then we perused the menus in between our conversations. We ordered: Fried Rice, Smoked salmon toast, Simple breakfast, and Braised bacon grilled cheese. His stepdad asked for them to sub the eggs for bacon since he can't have eggs, and they were able to do that. Everything was amazing. My fried rice had the perfect runny egg. You can ask them to cook the egg any which way and I asked for over easy. I wanted something that would reheat well as we had eaten breakfast at the hotel earlier that day. The bf had the salmon toast topped with hard boiled eggs, and it came with this amazing side of fresh fruit. The food was delicious and we had a great time catching up, post-vaccinations. Service was great. There was a paid lot across the street for parking. I think there was street parking as well but we took a Lyft to the restaurant. Word to the wise: TRUST your foodie friends to know where to go.
Be the first to ReplyMeh. Doesn't full-fill it's promises.
Way too salty, overpowered everything, way too saucy, trying way too hard and not coming close. Maybe if you get pancakes (hard to ruin those--but really, can't you just make them at home?) We had small plates. Cauliflower (too much sauce and oil), the beets and snow peas (maybe 1 snow pea cut into tiny pieces and smothered in some overly salted creamy sauce), the grilled scallop (good as long as you didn't get any of the super-salty green sauce on them), and clams (just a few minuscule clams in a tub of sauce that again was salted to the point of inedible).

While driving around looking for current outdoor dining found this place. Ordered the fried chicken and pancakes. Best pancakes ever and the chicken was tasty spicy nuggets.

Recommend to us by local foodies we thought weโd give it a try. The menu choice is varied (check their on line menu). We were spoilt for choice, however we decided to go with a mix up of different courses. Beats salad Panned zucchini Lamb meatballs Bacon chop OMG you have to try the food! The quality of food and service is fabulous. I would certainly recommend this place. Itโs an absolute gem of a place. Pricing is very reasonable indeed, and we came away talking about the experience and wanting to go back next time weโre in town.

The waitress recommended six plates for three people and that was the correct amount. The food was excellent. Good wine list - not huge, but well selected. Nice room as well. Only complaint is that the enormous ice cubes made it difficult to drink the Old Fashioned.

Had a fantastic meal again..all dishes were magnificent Such a pity that there is no expresso machine..how can you finish a wonderful meal and not have this simple addition. We tried different dishes..so good.. Was a special celebration but the restaurant or server didn't really make it special

Itโs our friendโs birthday and decide that we want to return to Trust and see how it has fared over a year. The answer is impressive because Trust seems even better than last year. We decide on Barbera dโAlba wine and it is smooth and as always amazing. Our hamachi tartare is light, delicious and a fabulous beginning, many wonderful elements playing off one another that contribute to a great first bite. We follow with grilled cauliflower which also features a combination of ingredients such as raisins, lentils and so much more. We remembered how tasty Lamb Meatballs was and again it is light, a melange of flavours and satisfying as four of us share each offering. Shrimp and sausage is a wonderful combination, suggesting a Moroccan feel. Two of us enjoy dipping ourbread into the rich sauce. Oxtail raviolini is smooth and as above, the combination of flavours renders this a standout. it also had stayed in our memory from a year ago, Yet the last two put me in orbit. Iโm not a meat person, yet Meyer ranch rib eye is outstanding, flavouring exceptional, cooked perfectly as medium rare. Truly it melts in our mouths who are oohing and ahhing. Finally is a luscious caramel, apple profiterole, the whipped cream real whipped cream, not from a can. Itโs light and finishes one of the best meals Iโve ever eaten worldwide. The chef is to be congratulated on their artistry, skill and knowledge.

Trust was recommend to us some local CA friends. My family and I took their recommendation and Trust will now be a โgo toโ restaurant when weโre back in San Diego! The food is absolutely out of this world! We ordered 10 menu items for 5 the of us, with the grilled octopus, pork sugo, pork & beef dumplings and grilled cauliflower being our top favorites. The cocktails are fantastic and they have a good selection of wine. The staff is friendly and helpful, Caesar took great care of us! I highly recommend this place and canโt wait to go back and try the โTrustโ way.
