Don't recommend brunch What they call poutine is actually just cheese fries. We asked for no aioli cause bf doesn't eat mayo and they also left off the egg for some reason. So he just got served fries with some cheese sauce with mini pork sprinkles. If you were expecting gravy, cheese curds, and actual pork chunks you could see, you'll be disappointed. And if you ask for any modifications, they'll apparently also leave off the egg? I got the baked eggs which also seemed misnamed as it's difficult to find any egg in the dish at all. It comes fairly underdone so as soon as you dig into the dish, the one egg in there sort of disintegrates and mixes with the rest of the sauce. Would be much more accurate to call it a chickpea & tomato stew. I tried to ask for more bread to dip into my stew (the chickpea stew came with 2 slices) and it took us about 20 mins to finally flag someone down. Bread came almost 15 mins after that, which they thoroughly buttered and then charged us for. Food alone (excluding drinks) was over $20pp and given their portions, you are sure to leave still hungry. Their drinks were decent though.

Amazing appetizers ,tapas, mezzi.I was pleasantly surprised. We will be returning.I don't hand out 5 star reviews easily. What stands out for me is the creative pairings of the food. Also, make sure to finish with the banana dessert.

My wife and I heard that brunch is good , so we decided to try their dinner. We were welcomed and sat. We came at 5, so it wasn't busy at all. Our server was nice and we ordered the following: Beet and feta salad Scallop Ceviche Wood grilled octopus Brisket Oxtail raviolini We enjoyed 2 our 5 dishes, very disappointed. Beets were extremely hard, not soft at all. Scallops were bland, brisket was all fat - more like pork belly. The octopus and oxtail were on point. I had ice tea with my dinner but the glass stayed empty for quite some time, so the server brought me two at the end. We also inquired about the burgers being ordered (as did 4 other tables) but we were all told that we couldn't order those - it's only the bar menu. I kinda get that but it seems that it was missed income as well as customer satisfaction....others may disagree.

I've been to Trust before for dinner and it was amazing, but their brunch is top tier! I think this might be my favorite brunch place in San Diego! First thing is first, the ambiance of the restaurant is so clean and inviting. I love the open kitchen aspect and watching the chefs cook! Our waitress was so sweet and kind and very attentive! All around a 10/10 for service and aesthetic. Now for the food I got the Fried Rice with Sunny Side eggs, my girlfriend got the pancakes with fried chicken and at the end we got the ultimate sticky bun The fried rice was to die for. It was so well seasoned and the eggs were cooked to perfection. Fried rice is very easy to make but this dish was top tier and very elevated. The pancake and fried chicken dish was delicious. It was the perfect combination of sweet and spicy mixed together in one. The pancakes were light and fluffy and served with a whipped butter. The chicken was cooked to a perfect crisp and had a great crunch. Not overdone whatsoever! The sticky bun was OUT OF THIS WORLD! Hands down the best sticky bun I've had. It was served with a scoop of chocolate ice cream. Getting that perfect bite of warm and cold in one bite is delicious. I have nothing bad to say about Trust! Chef Brad Wise knows exactly what he is doing!
Be the first to ReplyFinally tried this restaurant for dinner.
We have been told that their brunch is really good but decided we wanted to try their dinner. We had a 5 pm reservation so the restaurant was not busy. Our server was nice and told us how to order since the dishes were shareable. We ended up ordering 5 dishes (we had ordered 4 but that was not enough). I also had a glass of wine and my husband had a tea. Below is what we ordered. Beet and feta salad - the flavors were nice but most of the bites of beet were pretty hard. I mean way too hard and crunchy. Scallop ceviche - texture was great but the scallops were a bit bland. Wood grilled octopus - one of my favorite dishes we ordered. It was cooked perfectly. Char siu glazed brisket - flavors were really nice but most of the pieces were pure fat. I mean not a shred of actual meat. I had 1 piece that was true brisket and really good. This dish was more like pork belly. Braised oxtail raviolini - one of my favorite dishes we had. They were perfect little bites of pasta with tender meat inside. It was a bit hard for my husband to get a refill for his tea. It was empty for quite a while before the server came by to check on us. Also would like to note that my husband along with 4 other tables asked if they could order a hamburger but were told no because it was only served at the bar. I get it but it seemed a bit silly. I would probably try their brunch but I was a bit disappointed with their dinner. We have been to Fort Oak, Rare Society and the Wise Ox and loved all of those restaurants.

This place blew us away from the food to the drinks to the service!
Be the first to ReplyOur favorite restaurant in San Diego.
You get the exquisite culinary experience of a super high end restaurant without any of the pretension. Service is always great. Meals are shared. Try the staples and the seasonal offerings both. Can't go wrong.
Be the first to ReplyThree out of four dishes were amazing.
However, the fourth dish was too salty, almost like they accidentally dropped the salt container in the food. We tried to excuse it because the rest of the food was great, but it was hardly edible. When we complained, the manager seemed irritated and he said that they make the dish "well-seasoned". I am sorry but excessive salt is not well-seasoned and there are countless other reviews complaining about the amount of salt. This is the first time I have returned a dish and it was because we were going to get sick from the amount of salt. He annoyingly asked if we'd like to remake the dish "with no added seasoning" or get another dish. The manager was rude when addressing us like we were trying to get a free meal. Most of the dishes were good but the experience with the manager soured the experience and we will not be coming back again.

I recently had an unfortunate experience at Trust due to the unprofessional and rude behavior of the hostess. I called when the restaurant opened a little after 9am on Sunday and asked if there was a waitlist I could put my name on. I was told there was no waitlist. Our family of 4 arrived 15 minutes after calling and were told that there was a 15 minute wait for the partially empty restaurant. Two other parties arrived while our family waited and were immediately seated. I wanted to inquire about this and our wait and politely asked the hostess and she began to raise her voice and speak in a tone that was rude. Her response and demeanor was unwelcoming and completely unnecessary. It felt like I was inconveniencing her for asking. Based on my interaction with the hostess, it appeared that my family and I were not welcomed, so we left. Overall, our experience at Trust was heavily marred by the hostess's rude treatment and tone. It's truly disappointing when such a key interaction point in a restaurant falls so short. I hope management addresses this issue promptly to ensure other diners don't encounter the same unpleasantness.
Be the first to ReplyThis is my favorite place.
I love it. Never disappointed. Be prepared it's more of a coursing menu. Which means order more than one thing per person and share. They know just how to bring it out. I have had a few times here where I wanted to lick the plate it's so good. Yes I was raised in a barn but a clean one so I don't lick the plate. The service is wonderful the atmosphere is lovely. Great date night spot

Sat at the bar today since I was eating solo, but that's not unusual for me. The bartender came over right away and suggested the vanilla cold brew, which was a great suggestion as it was creamy, smooth, and a hint of sweet just like me. The chorizo con huevos was definitely a different take on rolled tacos but just as yummy with a perfectly poaches egg. Come try this place, you won't be disappointed.

Casual atmosphere friendly staff and EXCELLENT food. Literally everything we tried (I think we ordered 7-8 items) was delicious.
Be the first to ReplyTrust was easily one of my favorite and most memorable
Trust was easily one of my favorite and most memorable dinning experiences in San Diego. I went there for my birthday and opted to sit outside. The menu has some seasonal changes often but I'm sure the food is always a hit.The ambiance is beautiful and minimal and the service is really top notch. We had oysters, baby gem, ricotta agnolotti, oak fried potatoes, albacore tartare, wood grilled octopus, braised oxtail raviolini, while grilled branzino, a s'more pop dessert and another seasonal dessert. Almost all dishes were delicious. The presentation was phenomenal. The seafood dishes and pasta were fresh. The oysters and ricotta agnolotti were the stars of the show. The flavor profiles made for an exciting adventure. The whole fish was cooked perfectly. The only dish that I would not order again was the braised oxtail raviolini - it was unfortunately salty and a touch chewy. But despite that I still give it five stars for overall experience, food and drinks.Overall, if you're looking for great drinks, service and an amazing vibe go here. You will not regret it.

Be the first to ReplyWhile I was on vacation I was looking for a great brunch
While I was on vacation I was looking for a great brunch spot and Trust pulled up as one of the top. Went there it was pretty busy so I highly recommend you make a reservation. We got lucky and found a spot at the bar with full menu. We ordered steak and eggs, lox toast, French toast and cold brews. The food was incredible and service was decent but the food took forever to get. I definitely recommend the place but two things to keep in mind: make reservations and be patient because at the end the food is worth it!
Be the first to ReplyAbsolutely amazing food and great service.
Reservations are recommended but they do take walk-ins. Just call ahead.

We went to try this place called "TRUST restaurant " We Found a parking right away and got seated quick too. They have outdoor and indoor seating, and both are spacious. Our server also came so quick, and this time I ordered Coffee 'coz I still had a hang over from yesterday ;) . The rest of our food that we ordered: *SMOKED PORK SHOULDER HASH - sunny side egg, fresno chiles , Black bean + radish salsa , 'n duja Mayo , cilantro * PORK BELLY POUTINE -sunny side egg , pickled anehein peppers , fried egg Aioli , Cheese Sauce *WOOD GRILLED BURGER - asiago cheese, Bacon - tomato jam , pickled onions , arugula , trg bun , fries and house cured - braised bacon & sunny side egg .* HOT COFFEE Among us, I'm the very first who will taste the food and omg, my son's SMOKED PORK SHOULDER HASH is a MUST to Order if you vist this place, it's very good and filling. It looks small in the picture, but its good enough to get filled up. My son really liked it, he says that there was so many flavor going on. My husband PORK POUTIN it was good too, but it's way too cheesy for me. And for my WOOD GRILLED BURGER , it was soooo good ! I don't eat much of the Hamburgers, maybe once a month only, but the Burger here are so good I can eat them like every week. I took out the egg from it 'coz I didn't want that yellow yolk dripping when I bite it. And I ate it the way it was served to me, I didn't put the two buns together 'coz it's too Big. I ate one side of the Bun with the BACON / Pork Belly and pickled onions and Veggies, it was so good and every bite was crunchy and good 'coz the bun is crisp. Then on the other half of the Bun is the Beef Patties that i asked to make just a medium rare and with whatever secret sauce on it was freaking good!!!My son's SMOKED PORK SHOULDER HASH and my WOOD GRILLED BURGER are the one we recommend to try here. So good !!! And our server was very nice and she was fast refilling our drinks and made sure everything was alright . I will be back to dine here again next week. Yummmy!
Be the first to ReplyGood service, great drinks, impeccable food.
The food is incredibly delicious, light enough to where you can eat your full plate and still go on with your day! Not too heavy, but big enough portions to leave you satisfied. Beautiful interior :) will be returning!
Be the first to ReplyEverything (minus one dessert) we had excellent.
Service was amazing. Drinks were delicious. - Clams: Amazing flavor and you must get extra sourdough to sop up all of that insane sauce. - Carrots: Indian flavors, so yummy, lots of different textures, killed the plate. - Oxtail ravioli: Easily the table favorite. Oxtail was cooked to perfection and the sauce was the perfect accompaniment to the dish. - Branzino: Deboned for easy devouring. Cooked perfectly, flavors were insanely good with a fresh leek salad to offset the salt in the dish. - Desserts - earl grey tea and macchiato: Fluffy puff pastries were a nice way to end the evening. The macchiato pudding was not what we expected. It was all mushy (pudding, duh) and was hoping for more peach flavor. Our least favorite but we still ate most of it.Recommendation: just go!
Be the first to ReplyReally cute spot with a wide variety of meal options.
I came here for brunch and got the avocado toast with salmon. My bread was really overdone so it was pretty difficult to eat but other than that everything was great! They have a dog friendly patio that's also serves as a great spot to people watch.

Every single thing we ate for dinner was fantastic and that's not an exaggeration. This place is a gem and I will definitely be returning when I'm back in San Diego.

Some wonderful friends treated me to dinner here for my birthday several months ago, and I absolutely loved it. We got drinks, and lots of dishes plus a dessert to share. I loved lots of the creative veggie-centered dishes (details below). One of our pasta dishes was too salty, though everything else was incredible: -Charcoal Baby Carrots w/pistachio butter, chili garlic crunch, pickled onions, crispy farro, herb salad-Ricotta Agnolotti w/black garlic streusel, black truffle, panna, basil -Shrimp & Andouille Sausage w/garbanzo beans, tomato, wine herb butter, grilled bread -Coal Roasted Sunchokes w/tortillas, cotija, cilantro emulsion, tajin, jalapeño vinaigrette -Wood Grilled Cauliflower w/golden raisins, mint, Serrano aioli, black lentils, cilantro, curry vinaigrette Lastly, the dessert menu was so cute! We tried the S'Mores "Hot" Chocolate. I'm looking forward to dining here again for brunch next time--I need to try that Ultimate Sticky Bun!
