The food is excellent and we go there almost every time we visit Houston. The portions are great and the prices are reasonable.
Be the first to ReplyThis was one of the top recommended spots for our Houston
This was one of the top recommended spots for our Houston trip. We wanted to try as many turkey legs as possible. We ended up getting four and let me tell you, we could not eat them all and it was 9 of us! These turkey legs are huge, flavorful, and super filling. Here's the list of the ones we had: Shrimp Alfredo Leg- Fully stuffed turkey leg topped with jumbo grilled shrimp, spicy dirty rice and Cajun Alfredo Sauce. On a scale of 1-10 I give it a 10. It was flavorful, creamy, and had the right amount of shrimp. Cajun Crawfish Macaroni & Cheese Leg- Slow smoked turkey leg prepared with our secret ingredient and seasoning. Stuffed with our Crawfish cajun Mac and Cheese. On a scale of 1-10 I give it a 10. The mac and cheese was really good and I love the seafood twist with the turkey leg. Stuffed Leg- The famous turkey leg stuffed with our homemade spicy TLH dirty rice. On a scale of 1-10 I give it a 8. I liked the spicy, but the rice was a bit mushy and I do not like mushy rice. Florentine Leg- Our Famous Turkey Leg, topped with our succulent jumbo shrimp, red onions, mushrooms and spinach. Finished off with our Cajun Alfredo Sauce and Parmesan Cheese- On a scale of 1-10 I give it a 7. This was good. I am just not a lover of mushrooms. If you like mushrooms, this would be perfect for you, lol! The ambiance is casual. The service was great. They were very accommodating for our group. We made reservations, so we were seated quickly. I would definitely recommend doing the same. If not, there is a wait. There was a line of people outside waiting to get in. The price point is great considering the amount of food you get!
Be the first to ReplyTurkey leg hut is a top attraction in Houston.
Upon arrival, we were seated within 5 minutes. Surprisingly there was not a long wait. We sat in there outdoor eating area which is nothing fancy. The menu was easy to follow with many options to customize your turkey leg. The portions are huge, food is delicious and reasonably priced. Our drinks took the longest to arrive as we were told their was only 1 bartender working. Our waiter answered all questions promptly and even provided suggestions. We Uber to the restaurant but it does appear to have paid parking nearby for anyone traveling. I am glad I finally visited but I would not be upset if I do not return. Overall, pleasant visit.
Be the first to ReplyNot gonna lie, I did not think I would enjoy the food.
It looked like it was initially doing too much. However, the food was super good. There's tons of outdoor seating and a live DJ. There's also inside seating as well. We ordered a variety of items but everyone LOVED their food! The swamp fries were fire The Alfredo Turkey was DELICIOUS The Mac and Cheese Turkey was amazing too The Alfredo sauce was on a bed of rice, there was also some shrimp on it. It had a kick to it and all the flavors paired AMAZINGGGGG!! I would deff recommend getting it. There's tons of food so make sure to maybe share. The prices were a bit high but you get a lot of food. I knocked off a star because some of the ladies complained about their food being luke warm, but the waitress took it back and heated it up. We also noticed all our straws from the bar had a weird sugary sweet taste to it. We believe the bartender spilled something over the straws. Overall, great experience! I'll be back again I want to try some of the other items.
Be the first to ReplyFood was good and service was prompt and quick.
We sat and smoked hookah. We had a short wait but there was free cold water while you wait and fans and somewhere to sit. We had a child with us and it was kid friendly but we didn't go on a super popping day either. Would definitely go again

The turkey legs here are so yummy and tender! The meat just falls off the bone. The portions are big too! We ordered take out since there was no parking and the restaurant looked busy. We got the Cajun Mac n cheese turkey leg as well as the swamp fries and swamp baked potato They have a DJ and he plays bangers outside but I will say inside the restaurant it is really warm.
Be the first to ReplyTurkey Leg Hut was better than I imagined.
Huge portions with huge flavor! I got the Cajun bowl, it came out hot, cheesy, saucy, and seasoned! My friends got the Cajun crawfish macaroni and cheese Turkey leg, and Hennessy glazed Turkey leg. No complaints whatsoever, we all full fast! My friend and I got extra Alfredo sauce but we didn't need it lol. We came at the perfect time miraculously, we got seated within 15-20 mins. I know the wait can be very long but it just happened to be perfect timing for us. But what I will say is, with how good the food was and such a fun environment it's worth the wait. Also they have an extra bar outside for those that are waiting, it's so convenient and makes the time go by faster. It was very open, good music, we got a hookah which was even more fun and entertaining. I don't really do hookah but it was simple, sweet, and apart of the experience. If I'm in Houston I would be disappointed if I didn't get a chance to go again! You gotta try it's worth it.

Be the first to ReplyOn my short trip to H-Town I was sure to stop by TLH.
I'm not the biggest fan of turkey, but this huge turkey leg with mac and cheese and crawfish was well seasoned, unbelievably tender, and filling! I was stuffed! The music was great and the place was packed. I'm not surprised why.

It was really good! Nice environment, great music, and a very fun helpful staff. The food was good and the drinks/ spirits are reasonably price for quality and quantity.
Be the first to ReplyAs always the food was delicious.
We were seated right away, the service was fast despite the crowd. The tented outside area was ok, our table was in the corner and in a puddle of water as it had rained most of the day. The price was right for a family of 4. Definitely will return

The Turkey leg was a no go for me! As a out of towner from Miami visiting for the first rime the service was bad, and I don't mean good. Our server I'm going to think misunderstood our order, brought us two different orders. I told him we did not order two different selections right away. Basically he refused to take it back, saying that we had to speak with the manager. We waited almost 20+ minutes for the manager which never came. We had to go and find her Tamika. Between the manager and the server, throwing each other under the bus this made experience the worst here at the Turkey hut! We will never visit here again ! Pls beware!
Be the first to ReplyFirst let me say this.
..the food is very tasty...if you get it...the wife and I went here last Thursday and sat down around 8p...we tried to order the H-Town drink...but they didn't have the ingredients to make them...so we ordered a Long Island ice tea and a ginger ale...and we ordered a couple of turkey legs...remember we got here about 8p...but we didn't get our drinks until around 9:30p...still no food...and they close at 10p...then around 9:45 the waitress came to us and said they still had 7 to 10 tables ahead of us and if we wanted to wait...nah...we waited damn near 2 hours for a drink...and basically you want us to wait 3 hours for our food...no thank you...if you want to just socialize and try to meet that next special person in your life...then come here...if your hungry and want to eat right away...this ain't the place for you...plus you have to pay $10 for parking...we'll just place an order to go well in advance...and never try to eat in again
Be the first to ReplySheeeeesh.
Thankfully we did not wait in a long line to be seated nor did we wait long for our food. But this place was busyyyyyyy. (Parking is terrible so don't expect to pull up and have a space.) Service was decent but the food makes up for it. Friends of mine ordered the famous Turkey legs that simply fall off the bone. I ordered the wings as I knew I wouldn't finish a Turkey Leg. I added some fries and the BEST macaroni I have ever had in my life. I can't wait to go back to Houston just to come here for some BOMB macaroni. If you make a trip to Houston make sure to stop here!
Be the first to ReplyI never understood why Turkey Leg Hunt needed a deposit but
I never understood why Turkey Leg Hunt needed a deposit but I understand now. I have never loved a Turkey Leg but I fell in love with the Florentine. I shared it with another person and we got rice on the side and we could not finish it. I had so much leftovers. Our deposit covered all our food and drinks. They were able to accommodate our large party very easily. Our servers name was Destiny and she was super friendly. She explained everything to us and we enjoyed her service. We sat outside and it was comfortable. I would definitely come here again. The only thing (which is not the restaurant's fault) is that it is very hard to cross the street. There is no crosswalk or stop light/stop sign. It's incredibly dangerous so please be careful when walking from the parking lot to the restaurant. T
Be the first to ReplySometimes you have to be skeptical when places garner a lot
Sometimes you have to be skeptical when places garner a lot of attention and clout.. i was already preparing to be disappointed after 1) i was seated and told the kitchen was backed up so food orders were going to take about an hour to come out, 2) the only drink i wanted from the menu, they were out of, and 3) the meal i came for (gumbo stuffed turkey leg), they were also out of. So i had to settle for food and drink i barely wanted AND wait an hour for it? Had i not pre-paid the $25 deposit, that would have been reason to leave but i sucked it up and hoped what i ordered (the shrimp alfredo turkey leg w/ side of spinach) would be worth it....IT DEFINITELY WAS. Omg the leg was smoked and flavored to perfection and fell off the bone. It had an accompanying dirty rice i guess to 'hold' some of the shrimp alfredo, every bite was a flavor explosion and PERFECTLY COOKED, including the shrimp. The spinach was EXCELLENT, i was surprised how much i enjoyed it. The wait staff was working hard and i could tell they were stressed as most of the tables were sitting with no food for such a long time. But i let em know it was worth the wait. My only gripe i had was poor ventilation even tho they had fans and large doors opened- the smoke made my eyes burn and had me coughing a little.. i thought i was about to have to order my food to go but when i tasted it.. had to devour it then and there. Make your reservation, bring a book or something in case of a wait.. and ENJOY this black-owned gem.

The Turkey Leg Hut is WORTH THE HYPE! Very very good and the DJ had the music on point. The customer service was excellent as well. Although there is a long line, they move through it pretty quickly. Make sure to order a Turkey leg and get the corn! I also had a strawberry lemonade (also delicious) and the pulled Turkey bbq sandwich. 5 star meal all around! Parking is a hassle, so be prepared to Uber there if you want convenience on the weekend.

The music is super loud you can't hear the person next to you. The drinks taste like fruit punch. The best item was the loaded fries with bbq turkey.
Be the first to ReplyFood overpriced.
$10 for parking. Parking is horrible. If you make a reservation it will take a $25 deposit per person which goes to your order. Card only no cash at all. If you want to move to another table you can't. It has a BBQ pit vibe. Loud music slow service. Tourist trap. 19.99 for. Turkey leg. The leg is smoked well with good seasoning . I would only get the famous leg nothing else. It comes without any sides. Plastic utensils you will have to ask for napkins. The leg will get a 4 star but everything else hot garbage. Not a fan. I supported but will never be back and won't recommend.
Be the first to ReplyIt was a great experience.
Food and service was amazing. More food than I ever expected, so lots of leftover. I had the Cajun bowl with catfish fish. Dishes are sharable so if you don't have a huge appetite you should consider sharing.
Be the first to ReplyMy first visit to the Turkey leg hut was great.
When we arrived there was a queue to get a table. There are benches against the wall so that made waiting easier . Once we got our table outside , it was chilly , so we were able to be moved inside where it was warmer. Our server was Amaya she was super nice , and made sure to tell us what they ran out , I believe gumbo the day we went . Ordered somemexican candy drinks and then ordered our food. Sadly I never even received my food, so that was the reason I won't give five stars. I ended up eating off of my friends plates . The stuffed turkey leg with the rice was great, turkey was very tender which was great for me . Also the crawfish mac was so good , drinks were okay too. All in all Id return and hopefully be able to indulge in my choice of meal.
Be the first to ReplyWhile visiting Houston, we went to The Turkey Hut for lunch.
Our cute young waiter "D" was pleasant, efficient and very attentive. It was nice outside, so we dined outside without any bug or insect problems. The FOOD was amazing, not only the turkey leg, but the fish was delicious. No complaints at all.Side note: parking across the street was $10. We turned the corner, FREE STREET PARKING! We walked about a hundred feet to the front door. Great food, great service, great price!
