This place will really always hold a special place in my
This place will really always hold a special place in my heart because it's the first meal my family and I had after my grandmother passed...like immediately after we left the hospice. The staff was very sweet and welcoming...it was a week day so we didn't wait too long for anything. The place had a very homey feeling, like we were at a friends house...the fried green tomatoes were truly the best I ever had with a little twist. If fried green tomatoes s isn't your thing I promise you'll love them here. I ordered the fish with a side of mac, absolutely zero complaints. I would honestly recommend anything on the menu. Each of my family members loved their meals. I will definitely be back!
Be the first to ReplyThe dill sauce was extremely watery and very tart.
I was told it was made to order. This not my first time coming here and I'm surprised how the food will not taste the same every time you go. I brought a friend here and even her food had to be remade. It's pretty much always empty here and now I know why
Be the first to ReplyThis place was cool.
I liked the neighborhood and parking was free. We went in a Saturday night and we managed to be seated quickly and park easily (I found parking in the front). The service wasn't that good because the waitress hardly checked on us . My crab cake sandwich wasn't hot when it came out. We also didn't care for the fried green tomatoes. The batter was too thick. On the good side, although my crab cake wasn't as hot as I'd like it was good. It wasn't fried and it was more like a baked patty which is what I'd prefer. My side of macaroni was super good. They use about three cheeses and I'd get that again!!!My cousins ordered ribs, calamari, salmon , and fish sandwich. They all liked their food a lot. Especially the one that had the ribs. She said the ribs were 8/10. They fell right off the bone. I tried the calamari, it was also good! The prices were also reasonable. I'd definitely return!
Be the first to ReplyGreat spot for lunch meeting.
. Good service.. No private parking so just have to find street parking which was good and easy.. Service was really good, pleasant and fast.. Food was great.. Catfish was blackened and had a lot of flavor and the grits was good with cheese and grilled peppers and veggies.. Cedar plank salmon was great with the yellow rice and it had some type of apple/ sweet flavor sauce on it.. Lunch time was crowded at all, plenty of space and good ambience..

It had been years since I'd been here but the food was even better than I remembered. Everything was fresh and came out hot. The chicken was delicious! I'm not a fan of sweet collard greens but they were well-cooked. The macaroni and cheese was savory. The service was spot-on and I love the ambiance. It's a cozy spot, great for a relaxing lunch or dinner. I also love this neighborhood and the location of this restaurant being across the street from a great coffeehouse. A++
Be the first to ReplyI always like to support our local food restaurants but
I always like to support our local food restaurants but this might be the worst experience I've had in a while. I'm a plant based vegan and the menu clearly said there were vegan options. Well what a surprise. I ordered the black bean patty (burger) WORST EVER. Now for the service: the host acted like this was her first day on the floor taking orders. There was a few minutes between water and her actually coming back and she asked for if we needed anything and proceeded to walk away when one of the guests had to stop her and let her know we wanted appetizers. One person ordered a martini and 30 minutes later we had to call her over and repeat the order. We had two people to go order bottle waters and let's just say, one came and the other one didn't. He ended up with a glass of sprite that was ordered when he first sat down. Suggestion: don't attempt food without sampling it. It was like crushed black beans and a hard crust on the outside. The fish was breaded to heavy and the pasta was over cooked. I could go on and on but I think you get the picture. I'm sure the bar is successful because the food is NOT!

The food, service and atmosphere at lunch was excellent. I ordered the Ahi tuna with soba noodles. It was delicious! The portion size was great. Just as good if not better was our server. I forgot her name, but she was lovely, gracious and obviously enjoys her job and engaging with people. I was in a group of friends that love to get together for lunch, she made it more memorable by taking us outside for a photo. It's the little things that make a place. Definitely worth another visit.
Be the first to ReplyVickery's is my favorite neighborhood restaurant.
This place is no frills but consistently REALLY good. I love all of their burgers and the fact that they offer a variety of side options. I also enjoy their bourbon shrimp, calamari and crab cake
Be the first to ReplyGreat neighborhood restaurant.
Service very efficient. Warm inviting atmosphere. Enjoyed my crab cake sandwich. Option of sides was nice as had soup , which was chicken with cabbage. Great desserts.

Really great food and friendly staff. I've been here several times and I've never had a bad experience. I will definitely be back.
Be the first to ReplyVickerys is an Atlanta Institution in Glenwood park.
We went here for a birthday dinner recently and they did a great job accommodating us. Ill be honest, the food is nothing to write home about... but the drinks are top notch. My husband was a huge fan of the margarita and felt they were strong and a bargain. Everyone else ordered a variety of cocktails and agreed they packed a punch. I had the burger which was okay. My husband liked his steak sandwich. Our server noted that the salmon is a hit there. Service is a bit slow which is as expected given the shortages but everyone was pleasant. Parking: Street

Last evening was my 2nd time visiting Vickery's and once again the food was excellent. The first time I had a salad w/grilled chicken that was so delicious I couldn't stop eating it. The bread pudding was outstanding as well. Last evening I ordered the salmon w/rice and a side of collards. The salmon was so flavorful! But baby, the collards were amazing! Can't wait to return!

Waiter didn't even notice a third person join the group I have to ask for a menu while he was walking away . The food was sub par  at best I Ordered the crab Benedict  the crab cake was overcook the bread tasteless and no sauce The waiter didn't check to see how my food is or return to the table until he present the check without clearing the plates or asking us if we want anything elseI get better service at Waffle House and feel more welcomed They need to hire better chefs and  experience severs

I seated myself and I sat there for about 5 minutes before someone finally waited on me. Mind you the waiter seemed to be more interested in clearing empty tables than waiting on me. I don't get it. At approximately 6 pm when I walked in, there were a total of 5 customers. I ordered a steak sandwich rare at $21.00 with tip. When it was served rare, it was practically raw so I sent it back to the grill to cook a little longer. When the Vickery was on Crescent in midtown, the food and service was great. Based on my experience last night, I would not recommend the Vickery.
Be the first to ReplyThis is my first and last time coming to this restaurant.
I came in about 6pm and there was no wait. I got seated and was waiting for a friend that was about 5-10 min away. When I first got seated I was seated in the corner which should have been red flag #1 but I ignored it because the restaurant was not that big so how could they forget about me. The waiter came over and asked if I wanted any drinks, I asked for a little more time and that was the last I ever saw of him. My friend arrived shortly after the waiter came and we began to wait and wait. The waiter never came back to the table in a span of 30 min AFTER my friend arrived. He serviced 3 other tables during that time and one of the tables was literally right next to us. One family came in, got seated, ordered drinks and received there food within that 30 min window of time. At that point I was fed up and just walked out around 6:45-7pm. So if you plan on going there for dinner I would probably recommend the bar or not this place at all.
Be the first to ReplyJust great all American bar food done right.
I literally have to have the ranch burger at least once a week. The food is always made fresh to order and the staff is always friendly and courteous. I highly recommend anything on the menu. You won't be disappointed.

It said that this place was open till 2am on a Saturday via google reviews so we walked the half mile from the eastern and it was closed. Disappointed to say the least.
Be the first to ReplyWhile housesitting in one of my friends' house in East
While housesitting in one of my friends' house in East Atlanta Village 9 weeks ago, I didn't a Yelp search for steaks and Vickery's popped up. Â I sure didn't know my way around this area because I thought Glenwood Park was far from EAV but then realized after I entered the location into Waze that it wasn't far at all from where I was temporarily living for a week.I had previously been in this area, so I knew there was available parking both on the streets in Glenwood and in a nearby public parking lot surrounded by residence buildings. Â All parking is free, and I found an empty space in the large parking lot. Â Vickery's Bar and Grill has a bar and a dining room that are physically separated. Â I first took a step into the dining area and I wasn't sure that was where I wanted to be, so I backed right out and walked to the bar entrance. Â The bar looked comfortably rustic; however, it was hot and humid outside, and the temperature inside the bar was very warm, making me think that the air conditioning on the bar side wasn't working. Â I decided to go back to the main dining area where it was cooler, so I walked through the hallway separating the bar and dining area and stopped at the host station. Â She greeted me and immediately showed me to a large table, where I sat on an overstuffed, comfortable, orange, leather/faux leather upholstered booth style bench. Â I looked at the menu that the host had given me, and, although I came here for a burger, the paella caught my eye. Â I hadn't had paella in a long time, so I decided to order that.Vickery's looks like it's kind of maintained but kind of not, and definitely hasn't gone through any renovations or noticeable upgrades recently. Â It has a certain slight charm on the dining area side, and anyone who wonders what older slightly upscale restaurants used to look like should come here. Â There were many people who came in here to dine, and, though this restaurant is casual, many customers arrived nicely dressed.Vickery's is at the corner of Garrett St and Brasfield Sq. Â There are tables outside of Vickery's on both streets for those who want to eat outside. Â The noise level outside was loud in front of the bar and in the main dining area. Â Otherwise, the noise at the tables outside near the main dining area was acceptable. My server was very effective, quick and attentive, coming by periodically to check on me and to see if I needed anything. Â He gave me updates on my paella which took at least 25 minutes for the kitchen to make. Â The paella was served in a hot cast iron and featured yellow rice, chicken, andouille sausage, shrimp, calamari, mussels, peppers and onions. Â Although this wasn't the best paella I've had, it was still good, with all of the flavors coming together. Â I was happily surprised that the sausage and the mussels were tasty. Â I just wish that there was more of both. Â I later ordered the cheesecake - loved it! Â Loved the meal and the service.Nice experience!
Be the first to ReplyLovely spot to chill, and open super late! Lots of locals
Lovely spot to chill, and open super late! Lots of locals and dogs! We came by for drinks and dessert and got the:A-Town Sour - Similar to an amaretto sour, minus the egg white. Super drinkable and has a sweet and tart taste. One of their smaller drinks, but excellently made.Blue(berry?) Sunrise - Like a gin martini with blueberry puree. Can definitely taste the blueberry, and it is not overpowered by gin. This is one of their larger drinks, and it's basically 2 drinks as it comes with both the drink in the glass, and an additional vial of the drinkCheesecake of the day (Oreo) - Really delicious! The waiter said they don't make this in house, but whatever bakery they get it from is doing a great job. It's fluffy and rich and not too sweet.Side of Fries - Rustic and had great texture. Not much to say, just that they were some solid fries.Service was excellent. Our waiter was very attentive and checked up on us a lot. In general the service at this restaurant seems to be really level-headed and customer oriented. A table near us sent their food back and the waiter and chef were calm and reasonable about it.Dining room/kitchen close earlier, but the bar part of the restaurant is open til 2am, and it's so lovely to have a late night bar option in the area.Definitely recommend checking this place out for neighborhood pub/restaurant vibes, especially if you're looking for someplace relaxing and casual.
