Is there a better Italian restaurant around? Ima have to go
Is there a better Italian restaurant around? Ima have to go with no way! Been coming here since they opened the Moody street location and I have never been disappointed! Yesterday we had a party of 5 for a Mothers Day lunch at 2:00 pm. From the warm greeting to the impeccable service everything about this beautifully decorated restaurant is simply the best. We started with a bottle of Veueve Cliquot yellow, was excellent. Then for apps we went a little nuts and did the mussels, eggplant involtini, meatballs and the burratta. All of it was freaking amazing! My entree was the veal piccata and it was super tender. The casarece carbonara, the gnocchi and the lobster raviloli were perfect. We went to Lizzy's for dessert! Vinotta is one of my all time favorite places. A must try!!!!

We love it here. Everything is delicious, good oils, fresh. Kind staff. Every time we are in the area this is our go to. Thanks for caring and sharing your love through your cooking.

The lobster raviolis $29 were stuffed with lobster. The sauce was delicious with perfectly cooked portobello mushrooms. Spumoni $13 was delicious as well. The mini ciabatta that accompanied the entree was crispy on the outside and soft & chewy on the inside--perfect. The restaurant was packed on a Mon evening. This meal was 5/5. We went back again for takeout. Octopus was very sour. I thought it was ok, but not sure most ppl would like it that sour. Papardelle with porcini & truffle was too creamy for my liking & has 0 truffle flavor. Tiramisu was good, not the best I've had. This meal was 3/5. Service was quick & courteous. It's a nice place to enjoy a meal. I would stick with the lobster ravioli & spumoni.
Be the first to ReplyGood food and way overpriced.
It's Waltham not New York City... not sure I'd go back based on value.
Be the first to Replyabsolutely FIRE.
Arguably the best ravioli I've ever had. The juxtaposition of the cheese ravioli with the meatballs and sauce reminds me of Sunday dinner at nonnas. 10/10 recommend.

I went there for the first time a few weeks back and just loved this place. Small intimate restaurant with exceptional food and service. I had grilled octopus to start and had the seafood with homemade pappardelle, delicious. My SO had caprese salad with unbelievable mozzarella. They had the stripped bass which was delicious. We ended with some sambucca, espresso and tartufo. Great evening. My only comment is that seating for 2 is mostly at the bar or high tops near the bar (especially on Friday). We sat in the front near the window and I didn't feel like I was in the restaurant since I was facing street. Personal preference. A great time and restaurant.
Be the first to ReplyUnfortunately, its overpriced for what you receive.
Service was good, food was tasty but my $40 " special" was so skimpy I was still hungry. Two slices of a carrots, one slice of a zucchini and two slices of a potato accompanied my extremely thin fish filet. I've never seen "mixed" vegetables served in such a miserly amount. What a rip off. I wish I took a photo of it to show how small the portions were. 40 bucks!!! It's Waltham, not NYC,
Be the first to ReplyAbsolutely fantastic experience, as always.
I think this is my third time, and each of them has been exceptional from the food to the wine selection. This time was the lobster ravioli, which my request (which was honored) for sun-dried tomatoes. Incredibly flavorful and 5*. Bartender service was top-notch, and always great to chat with Dante. Highly recommend and definitely same level as the "standards" of Waltham.

The store is very cute but the tables were a little small and cramped. Our server was amazing and he took his time going over the menu. We ordered the beef carpaccio and it was great, just a little sour. I would highly recommend the frutti di mare al vino bianco. The scallops were cooked to perfection. Would definitely come back when I am in town.

We love Vinotta! Great drinks, authentic Italian food, and amazing service. They are able to sub gluten free pasta for any of their pasta dishes, and it is the BEST tasting gf pasta I've had.

I walked and told the hostess that I had a reservation but I was a little early and I did not mind waiting. Then a party the same size as mine walked by the restaurant and said ooh should we try there then they walked in and they did not have a reservation and got seated right away. So then I walked back in and told the hostess what I just saw and she lied to my face and told me that they did have a reservation even though they told me they did not so then we made an executive decision to go somewhere else. Very disappointing and the hostess was very rude for no reason
Be the first to ReplyThe hostess tonight was the rudest I have ever encountered.
We came 15 minutes early for our reservation and were told we would have to wait (which we were totally fine with). While waiting outside, another family the same size as our party came and mentioned that they did not have a reservation but wanted to check out how long it would be for a table. They went in and were told by the hostess that a table would be made up right away. We watched as she asked another couple, who were already seated, to get up and move tables so she could fit in this party that just arrived without a reservation. She sat them right away and let us continue to wait. She then lied to our party and told us they had a reservation, even though we spoke to them outside and they told us themselves that they did not. After waiting a while past our reservation time we finally decided to just leave and find another spot to eat at. Very disappointing.

We taste the integrity of the ingredients and the non compromising care. This is our go-to whenever we are in the area. I
Be the first to ReplyAwesome place on Moody St in Waltham.
Moved out of city/North End and this fills the Italian food itch perfectly.

Vinotta is a unique blend of classic Italian fare with touches of modern and global influences, all tucked into a small, but tasteful space on Waltham's Mood Street. Considering the small kitchen which is barely big enough for three people cooking, they manage to turn out a good sized menu across multiple courses, and the bar is well stocked for everything from wines to pair to cocktails to enjoy. Everything we had, from the warm rolls to start to the fresh proscuitto and burrata app, to my wife's seafood risotto (spectacular!) to my massive veal chop and broccoli rabe was scrumptious and well paced. The vibe was classic but friendly. We will definitely be going back to try the pasta too because it looked and smelled amazing every time we saw it on another table. Definitely a gem for those looking to get great Italian dishes without a trip to the North End.
Be the first to ReplyI ate here last night, and the food was exceptional.
My husband and I arrived early for our reservation, and the host provided us with chairs so we wouldn't have to stand while we waited for the other couple to arrive. This kind of thoughtfulness and concern for guests' comfort was consistent throughout our meal. We had a lobster special, the papardelle with mushrooms and black truffle, the pasta bolognese, and a sea bass special. Everything was delicious, beautifully prepared, and seasoned. The cocktails were very good, and the server was knowledgeable and friendly and gave good advice. We will definitely return to Vinotta! Thank you for such a wonderful meal.
Be the first to ReplyI had the pleasure of dining last night for the first time.
It will most assuredly not be the last. My niece who is a Waltham resident highly recommended Vinotta. Evidently, she has exquisite taste. From the moment we walked in - fifteen minutes earlier than our seven pm reservation - the host was kind enough to bring us two chairs. Evidently, the fact that I use a cane swayed the host, but she was extremely gracious.Soon thereafter we were approached by a most genial owner who engaged us in lively conversation. Our dining experience before we tasted your offerings was sealed and delivered by the warm welcome your staff extended to us. And then the piece de resistance - the cuisine. Outstanding. I had the Lobster special which was as succulent as the seafood and parpadelle were sweet and sumptuous. My wife had the parpadelle with black truffles which she raved about without condition. The party we were with had the Red Snapper special and Bolognese. Again, you didn't disappoint as they both raved about their selections. We finished off our meals with the chocolate encrusted Spumoni - a delicious reimagined dessert. If I had one complaint - a minor one at that - I wish you had a choice of Bourbons available to choose from. High end to the middle of the road. The Angel's Envy is ranked the 49th bourbon - hardly a reason to brag. I found it to be overwhelmingly sweet with strong vanilla notes. Such a minor complaint does not sway me to give you anything less that five stars.Thank you for a memorable evening,Steve L
Be the first to ReplyFantastic place.
. we had a reservation at another place up the street which they did not honor..and I called Vinotta and they said to come on over.Dante was amazing and got us a table within 10 minutes. Our server, Rebecca was wonderful, attentive and very knowledgeable and our meal was amazing..we will absolutely be back and highly recommend this place!

The woman bartender was so nice and made great drinks! Eggplant app was delicious and special entree tagliatelle with shrimp and scallops in pink sauce fabulous. Very enjoyable!!

The food is very well prepared and the atmosphere is charming. I quite enjoyed our lastmeal there, which was a dinner. Our wait staff was attentive and kept us updated on any issue, of which there were basically none. Would highly recommend!
Be the first to ReplyTonight we wanted some thing local as it was last minute.
First of all the service left something to be desired. The food was mediocre. The waiter was taking our order and stopped in the middle to bring a table who had just sat down water. I was served my salad before the wine. I was served the cordial after dessert was finished. When my son was served his steak, we needed to request a knife. I had the Fruitti di mare with a garlic white wine sauce. The fettuccine was like egg noodles and had no flavor. My sons filet was a very small portion maybe 5 oz. The lava cake for dessert was cool and overcooked on the edges.

I think the food was delicious! Everything was just right, not too oily or salty, and dessert was not overly sweetened. It's a nice modern place, clean, and cozy. Bathroom was very clean as well. Definitely enjoyed my time here would recommend trying everything especially the house made tiramisu.
