Wagaya - Westside Atlanta Reviews from The Last Year
Extremely happy with my visit here service was kind and
Extremely happy with my visit here service was kind and caring also helpful. The ingredients of the sushi is fresh and delicious. The portions size is also excellent and filling for sushi. I stopped in during a terrible thunderstorm and just had a great dinner. would definitely recommend it and come back!
I've been wanting to try this place for a while.
It's right up the street from where I work. Got the tonkatsu and gyoza. The ramen was way too salty and the gyoza tasted like onions. I'm so disappointed. I had a craving for ramen today. I knew I should have gone to my go-to here on west peachtree. Oh well.
I really love this spot.
I found out about it this week and I went back the next day. I haven't tried to many things on the menu but sushi I did have was so tasty. I got the hidden treasure sushi and the presentation was so cute and fancy. The environment felt real authentic to Asian culture. The bathrooms even had Asian comics all over the wall. Our server was super helpful. I was with someone who doesn't eat a lot of sushi and they were able to give some good recommendations. They have a lot of other things on the menu like ramen and curry as well.
One of our favorite local spots.
The food is delicious and the service is great. We frequently visit this establishment
Very Reasonable Japanese Restaurant
First, it could be a 5 Stars if it has chairs. I understand you want to get the customers out as quick, but it is stingy. The food is very good. The sashimi are fresh and good portion, the combo is nice, the rolls are unique and the miso soup could taste a hint of clam. The tempura just like most of the other restaurants now: no flaky flakes but batter..,, Overall good value and tasty!
This is a great spot in the Midtown area.
With authentic Japanese cuisine and a matching ambiance to go with it. I can always recommend their curry and katsu choices, but you'll never go wrong with the ramen. My servers have always been solid, never any complaints from me since the store is small you are given much attention. Sometimes the tempura is inconsistently cooked but that is a minor gripe, maybe just me being picky lol. 7/10 great choice
Took my mom and aunt here to celebrate late Mother's Day
Took my mom and aunt here to celebrate late Mother's Day since they are not from Atlanta, and was really impressed with the food quality and affordable price! The restaurant also felt like you stepped into an actual place in Japan. I loved the vibe of the place! It was around 11:45 on a weekday when we came so it was during a lunch rush, which we understood, but the waitress who served us wasn't the most pleasant. I'm sure it was because it was really busy, but still thats not an excuse to be sassy. Took away a star for that and for the struggle of parking in that back lot. Minor things, but still overall good experience!
This is currently my boyfriend's favorite Ramen shop.
I've been here 3 times now. Once, to the Decatur location and last year for my birthday. The parking lot is kind of small so be mindful of that when you come. The space is very dim so it makes it kinda hard to see. Our server was nice and everything came out quickly. We'll definitely be here again.

It was my first visit, a friend took me and what a great surprise. The food was very good, large portions and great quality. The spicy Tonkatsu Ramen was exceptional. Great very quaint ambiance and really good service. My friend had sashimi and it looked incredible and very fresh. He loved it and said the taste was amazing.
I haven't been to Wagaya in awhile and my trip there
I haven't been to Wagaya in awhile and my trip there recently reminded me of how much I love them! It was a big group of us and luckily they were able to sit us. They were busy on a Monday night too. Parking there could be a pain but street parking is also available. It took us awhile to figure out what we wanted to order. Wish I got our server's name but she was super patient with us. We got a bunch of sushi rolls whose names I don't remember. For my entree, I ordered the hitsumabushi. It was beautifully played that came with a big piece of fatty eel and a heaping amount of rice in a stone bowl. They provided condiments of seaweed, green onions and wasabi. Plus the dashi broth in the most beautiful pot. I ordered since to get out of my comfort zone since I always tend to order sushi; this was definitely worth getting. By the way, we dined here to celebrate a birthday and I walked in carrying a cake. They charge $50 for a cake fee but they keep the cake refrigerated and provide serving utensils. We did not know this but opted to eat our cake elsewhere.
26$ for only one bite eel.
Disappointed. Flavor no bad, but not worth 26$. It totally spoiled my evening after a tiring workday. Please stop fooling people (even at Fools Day).
my favorite ramen spot in atlanta.
delicious food and quick service. it also very cozy and dark inside
Best sushi for the prices in Atlanta.
I go at lunch time and get the sashimi bowl and the yellowtail with scallion. The service is efficient and the ambiance standard.
High quality sushi for a reasonable price, I understand why
High quality sushi for a reasonable price, I understand why it was a 20 min wait the food is good. The place is quaint and the attached Asian market down stairs was really cool. I'm not a soup person but I tasted my husbands gyoza soup it was really good!

Decided to try Wagaya on a random Friday and I'm so glad we did! Quaint little spot so a wait may occur but it moved relatively fast for a Friday evening. My party of two was seated after a brief fifteen minute wait. The first thing that caught my eye was their amazing dinner plate deals. I mean, where else in Atlanta can you get two sushi rolls AND ramen for $25? It was such a steal. Sure, their rolls were the basic rolls but it definitely helped satisfy my ramen and sushi craving. I'm definitely coming back to check out their specialty rolls though!

Does not accommodate allergies! I told the server I had a shellfish allergy and she told me they don't have clean counters, knives, or pans. Also mentioned how the shellfish is kept touching the other foods. When asking if they could clean a surface for a vegetarian dish (that should have no crossing with any meat/fish) they refused. When I asked which foods are safe to eat without contamination, she couldn't tell me a single item with certainty/confidence. I was told "well there's this one salad but we use the same serving spoons." And "I don't feel like calling an ambulance tonight." After this whole encounter I didn't feel comfortable ordering anything. If you're not going to accommodate an allergy, I suppose that's your right, but please make a note of it on your website or something so this doesn't happen.

Food was standard and good! Nothing outstanding, but I love a consistent place. Pork gyoza (8/10): juicy, flavorful, wish they had a bit more of a crunch at the bottom! Takoyaki (7/10): octopus chunk was small inside, but good nonetheless! Yellowtail roll (10/10): loved the scallion addition to the roll, gave it a bit of extra flavor. Yellowtail was good, fresh. Spider roll (7/10): batter on the crab was a bit soggy, but very standard without too much rice in the roll. Service was okay, our waiter was not very attentive and I had to walk up to him to get the check. It wasn't really busy when we went, but they have lots of seating and can probably hold a larger party! Nice place to go if you want a quick fix of sushi near Georgia Tech at a reasonable, affordable price.

I love the location and the ambiance, but for the price, I expected Wagaya to be much better. The quality is not much different than any other regular fast-casual sushi place, but the prices made me expect a mid-tier restaurant -- not on the same level as omakase, but also not takeout quality. Unfortunately quality was closer to takeout. Especially obvious for the nigiri, where the fish quality (and the often overlooked rice!) is on full display. I would come back if a friend wanted to, but I would certainly stick to the rolls over the sashimi/nigiri (I think this is where I went wrong!) The katsu curry we had was also meh -- chicken was good, but the curry was just...plain brown sauce. No hate to Golden Curry cubes (if that's what this was!) but I like when there are potatoes, onion, or carrot added for more substance (which distinguishes a sauce from a curry, imo!) I heard the ramen was great, so maybe go for that. Service felt rushed, which I understand -- it's a small place, but we were asked numerous times if we were ready to order before one of our other members (who was just parking, not late!) had even sat down. On the plus side, food came out very quick for those who arrive hungry. TLDR - prefer Nagomiya (by the same group) over Wagaya. Quality and service style is better -- maybe a touch more expensive -- but worth it in terms of experience. Wagaya seems to be at this odd inflection point of not quite being a fast casual bar, not quite being a mid-tier restaurant -- and it just didn't work for what I ordered and expected! As always, ymmv!

Go to spot for some good sushi or ramen! Casual dining with good service, reasonable pricing, and quality food. Be sure to check out the market downstairs!
I don't know what the hype is.
Everything is mediocre. Server forgot and brought miso soup out after we were done with entrees. Not going back.
The food is the best! Huge fan of how fresh everything is.
One of our faves. Oh--kids menu is great too.

That's what AT sponsorships are for - and you are only paying 25% in the first year and then less in year two and three.
I beliebe @EternalAnt36 was sponsored by @PerceptiveWash44 and is now doing $25k/mo.
You can write on the top sellers profiles (type 'Top 10' in the searchbar) and then tap request sponsorship button after you found the guy or gal like to work with!
