We went to their Broodway location. The used car salesmen of the restaurant world. Took the whole team here for a steak dinner. These people are true scammers. The scam is, you order one dish, they multiply it out for the whole table and charge you. I ordered 1 seafood appetizer. Some people want seafood. They put 3 towers on the table. I said I only ordered 1, they said they are just spreading it out for everyone. On the bill there were not 3 seafood players, there were 7. Almost $700 of seafood we did not want. They did the same to all the sides. Then they made us wait almost 2 hours until the seafood was done to deliver our steaks. Some of the people do not eat seafood, others were so full more then an hour ago then they were just ....waiting. Once this was done the steaks were not even enjoyable. This is the second year we went to this restaurant, we have decided as a team never to go back.

we don't get steaks here back in our country and luck by chance when roaming around in NYC I stumbled upon this classy restaurant. the staff was very good in recommendations and with 2 glasses of wine and a well done steak I had the best lunch in NYC

• THE RESTAURANT: Times Bldg 250 W. 21st St. TOO BIG & VERY LOUD. Find more intimate spot if you want to have a conversation without screaming. • THE SERVICE: Waiter TRIED to sell us on a “steak sampler for the table” that included a $360 bone in Wagyu ribeye! (which was NOT even on the menu!!). WATCH OUT! • THE FOOD: Porterhouse for 3 and Cajun Bone-In Ribeye: BOTH cooked poorly (nobody finished their food). Totally undercooked. Also, the cut of meat was NOT “Prime.” Way too much thick fat membranes running through steak (this is my 3rd visit to Wolfgang’s in 12 months - all disappointing food).

5 out of 5, this steak restaurant is truly the best i have eaten steak in. We had the porterhouse, with Mac, cheese and lobster, sautéed spinach with a couple of glasses of cabinet sauvignon that were excellent. Staff were really easy going and polite. We will be returning most definitely!!!

Over priced. Staff friendly until it came to tips then turned nasty if your tip wasn't to their liking saying that's how I get paid.suggest they get a proper job that pays them a wage
Be the first to ReplyGood food, shame about the service
Good streak, terrible service When you book a table at an expensive restaurant it’s not just about the food, it’s about the whole experience, unfortunately this restaurant falls extremely short on service. We spent our last evening in NY in this restaurant and TBH I wish we had spent our money elsewhere. Don’t get me wrong the steak was wonderful, large one would have fed two of us but that’s not an issue, the creamed spinach was watery so would not recommend that vegetable. The rest of the food was all excellent. What let this restaurant down was the service. We have had better service in a cafe The wine was slopped into our glasses, and the waiter served our drinks across the table. Our food was slapped down in front of us and plates cleared while some of us were still eating and cleaned plates across us too! I worked as a waitress for 10 years and would have been sacked if I served customers in that way. I am not sure if this is all acceptable service in NY but if it is then I am shocked and surprised or did they not care when they realised we were tourists? If I want service like that I would go to McDonalds I would suggest they dont charge extortionate prices for food if they can’t serve their customers if in a professional manner. Perhaps they should visit London, Paris or any country in Europe and see how you are meant to serve customers It’s not just about the food I would not recommend unless things like this don’t bother you if they do then I would not recommend.

Tourist trap! Looks fancy but the food is average and extremely overpriced. It felt like a robbery to be honest. Don’t go there!
Be the first to ReplyInconsistent experience at Wolfgang’s
Wolfgang’s Steakhouse, after the style of Peter Luger’s, is known as a place for a business lunch in midtown. The ambiance is very nice and their wine list is superb. The waiters are very nice and helpful. There is one thing on the menu that can be counted on, that is the porterhouse steak for two or more. In addition, we decided to try some of their other fare, including lamb rib chops ($95 for 6) and their chicken ($30). Despite asking for the lamb to be cooked medium rare, it arrived well done. The chicken was over-grilled, and was no better than a “street vendor”. On the other occasions when we have dined there, the food was better prepared. The bottom line: if you are looking for something other than their porterhouse steak, Wolfgang's can be inconsistent.

Had dinner here on a Friday evening based on recommendation by NY based friend. We had a great evening and shared the porterhouse which was cooked to perfection. Our waiter Danny was great and cannot recognize some of the negative comments about the service from other reviewers. Would definitely go back.
Be the first to ReplyGreat Service, Great Food, Close to Theater
Took the 11 year old grandson to NYC to see the Phantom before it closes, he doesn't eat many things but does like Filet Mignon, so Wolfgand's was close to our hotel and the show. Were seated quickly upon arrival. Waiter was excellent, grandson said "Pap, the filet mignon is $65 here! And you have to pay $14 for French fries! I told him that was NYC and not to worry just eat all of anything he orders. Oysters on the half shell for start were great, served nicely on ice as they should be, Nanny and Pap had sea bass, strange to see at steak house , but you don't see it everywhere, a large portion, prepared excellent. All three got a different desert so we could sample several. all were excellent. Excellent meal, I don't think my grandson will ever forget!

The restaurant was nice and the location was beautiful, but I was a little disappointed in the food. While it was enjoyable, I was underwhelmed for the price we paid. I’m (F) glad we experienced going there, but we probably won’t be going back. I would go to Charlie Palmers and short distance away.
Be the first to ReplyGreat food and better bar!
Great service and really high quality good. If you are staying at Times Square Hilton its literally across the street. Much better bar than the hotel. Several deserts are made there in house. And the steak sauce is worth brining a bottle home. Huge bar. They can make anything you like!
Be the first to ReplyQuality Steak, Shoddy Service - AVOID
Expensive steaks with exceptionally poor service. To be fair, the steaks were good quality and cooked as we had specified. My steak came with a peppercorn sauce, I asked if they had an alternative and the straight answer was no. Glasses from our pre-dinner cocktails sat on the table empty until we left. Quite frankly, I have seen icebergs move quicker than the service we received. We won’t return as I know there are great steak places in NYC and I’m sure offer a much better experience.

Expensive yes, but worth it. Incredible food. The steak was cooked to perfection, and a large portion. Very much worth it.
Be the first to ReplyNot a good experience. Avoid it.
Very bad experience. Dinner as a couple. We ordered 2 soups of the day, 1 slice of roasted bacon, 1 salad with crab and bacon plus fruit. The soup was empty, it only had the broth. The meat wasn't very good and it was very small, same for the salad. Furthermore the waiter every time he came seemed like he wanted to kick us out. Bill? Pricey.
Be the first to ReplyDelicious food at elegant restaurant
We were walking randomly in Manhattan NYC streets when found the elegant Wolfgang's Stakehouse restaurant 😍 at 41st street so decided to walk inside and were really pleased that the hostess seated us in a unique frontline table although we had no prior reservation. We enjoyed the elegant dining atmosphere while we wore casual fashion; the food quality and quantity were beyond amazing and extremely delicious. I ordered tasty salmon and the piece was really big. My husband ordered ribs which also were big and it is recommended for meat lovers. Thanks to the professional and friendly waiters who took great care and attention to each table and will definitely come back again when visiting NYC to try more dishes.
Be the first to ReplyVery Disappointed
Service was not friendly an inattentive. All 3 steaks were ordered were cooked less than requested. Lobster Mac and cheese and mashed potato sides were both warm not hot. For this price, it should be better…
Be the first to ReplyI hope I don't get sick. Ask your server to serve the glass at the table!
After finishing my wine glass, I found a foreign laminated object at the bottom of my drink, maybe one square inch in size, amorphous, flat, and organic. I asked the waiter to help me understand that object, and he promptly answered that it was wine sediment; it was apparent this was not the case. I requested an explanation from their manager. He took the glass, and a manager returned with it and explained that this was part of an onion ring; I asked him to explain why he was sure this was an onion ring. He responded that it was an onion ring because we had ordered onion rings and that we probably dropped it there. When I told him that the glass wine was not served at the table and that the glass was served behind doors, he again stated that it was my fault. I am still not convinced this was an onion. I did not argue and asked for the check. I took pictures of the object, but he did not let me keep it as I was going to send it for analysis. Who knows what I drank! This situation is unacceptable for any restaurant; I don’t care if the check is $15 or $500; I am surprised how the manager managed the problem and did not take responsibility.
Be the first to ReplyService could do much better
Let's start with the good things, the food was really good, crab cocktail, fillet, salmon all ok. Our waiter mainly took good care but others were totally disinterested. This is not what I should expect at this restaurant level. On top of that I got a note from Open Table that we missed our reservation. We clearly mentioned our reservation upon arrival. This lack of understanding fit perfectly with our impression of the service. I am sure there are other places where we are more welcome.
Be the first to ReplyGood Food but Expensive
We stopped in midweek and the place was packed. That said, we only waited a few minutes for a table. The size of the portions was excessive but compensated for the price. I ordered the fish and it was the biggest serving I've ever had and was delicious. My friend had a steak and again it was way too much. We ordered a good bottle of wine which obviously impacted the overall bill. The downside was that they tables were very close together in this Covid era and the acoustics were really bad and the restaurant was very noisy.
Be the first to ReplyI thought it would be better
We arrived at the restaurant after visiting it several years ago, we decided to celebrate the end of the trip in this restaurant. The place is cozy, the waiters are kind on the one hand but very hurried on the other hand even on the verge of carelessness. In terms of dishes the Porter House was good, tasty and made right. The fillet was made to the right size but came from being too salty, so much so that we just tasted it and did not continue. The cauliflower also came too salty and we returned it, it was too salty. We finally ordered a burla cream dessert that was reasonable and nothing more. In terms of score, the restaurant is disappointing in terms of cost and the quality it was supposed to convey.
Be the first to ReplyHorrible, overpriced meal
This is a trendy restaurant with rude staff and terrible food. The lobster bisque was essentially tomato soup with a few bits of lobster, no cream in it at all. When the waiter asked why I didn’t want it and I told him this was not a bisque, he was clearly annoyed and took it away. Didn’t apologize or offer me another choice.
The $54 sea bass came out dry and appeared to have been grilled?? No sauce. Was inedible.
The porterhouse for 3 was tasteless.
When the manger came over to see how we were doing, we shared our disappointment with him. All he said was that the meat was prepared “ naturally” with no spices or seasoning. Didn’t apologize for our experience or offer to comp anything.
Over $450 for this meal and the Outback would have been better.
Worst meal in NYC ever!!!!
There are many great restaurants in the city, do yourself a favor and skip this one.
Dreadful restaurant
I don’t often feel compelled to write a bad review about a restaurant - particularly since i know the industry has been rocked the last 2 years with Covid. But having paid $340 this evening for one of the worst meals we’ve ever eaten i feel compelled to let others know about the experience we had. Shockingly rude staff, incredibly limited menu and astronomical pricing. The highlight had to be the $51 service charge that was added automatically to the bill when the waiting staff could barely even be bothered to bring our food to the table. For a country that’s supposed to show the rest of the world how to provide exemplary service, this restaurant has to be one of the worst examples I’ve ever had the misfortune to frequent. New York has some amazing places to eat - but this most definitely isnt one of them.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent Porterhouse for two
Popped in here fr a bite to eat on a random Wednesday before Thanksgiving. Surprisingly it was crazy busy and due to not having a reservation we had to eat at the bar. This wasn't actually a problem as the bartenders were pretty helpful in recommending a nice wine to go with the Porterhouse for Two or more.
The meal could definitely feed 3 people [typical huge US portion].
Decent steak, the Béarnaise sauce was not good but that didn't spoil the meal.
A busy, dark, and atmospheric restaurant that's in a very good central location. Service was fast, efficient and the staff is polite too. You probably wont be disappointed.
