Antojitos La Chiapaneca Tulum Reviews from The Last Year
Touring Tulum
It is an excellent place to eat, the taste of the food is unbeatable, the quality-price ratio is more than fair and they have very good service. It is an excellent option to eat and have breakfast in a good, beautiful and cheap way.
We're a bunch of gringa bitches just finishing up a cenote
We're a bunch of gringa bitches just finishing up a cenote tour and our amazing tour guide brought us here for tacos. This was before anyone on our trip got food poisoning so we were naive, raw, and as adventurous as it was going to get during this trip. A bunch of people ordered horchata which was served via what appeared to be a repurposed poland spring bottle. I tried it, it was very good. They have an actual vegetarian section of their menu which was exciting. I was initially planning to order the cheese enchilada. Against my better judgment I was convinced to try a panchuco due to comments made by someone else in the group. I also ordered a cheese empanada. Our tour guide ordered us some guac for the table. I went to wash my hands while the guac arrived and it had already been dug into by the time I got to it but it was absolutely fantastic. ORGASMIC. Some of the best guac I've ever had. I just wish there were some more chips. By the time our individual shit arrived, amnesia must have set in because I completely forgot what I ordered, thinking I ordered the cheese enchilada. I was not pleased with all of the mushrooms I saw on the panchuco and flagged down the waiter (when I say I, I mean someone else who has the balls to do so). But the waiter, with a better memory than I, corrected my shit real quick and told me that's exactly what I ordered and at that moment, I realized my mistake. Embarrassing. I don't eat mushrooms so I could only eat the empanada, which was very good. I handed over the panchuco to GF who, when asked how it was, says, "mushrooms". The people who got the al pastor really liked it. Everyone ate everything. Seems like cheap, authentic, mexican food.
This place is hopping! Great location to walk to.
The food was authentic and delicious! Menu is in both English and Spanish. Variety of food options! This place is reasonably priced. Just so you know they include the gratuity in the check. We had to ask to verify since our check was more than we expected. A must when visiting Tulum!
Must try
Very nice little local place. Yes, the waiter is typical Mexican, so a little fast, but the fact remains that it is the best value for money that we found in Tulum.
Tacos very tasty and excellent value for money.
Tacos very tasty and excellent value for money. The service is very efficient and the staff adorable. One of the best taquerias in Tulum
100% recommended
Very rich place. Cheap and tasty food too. I recommend it to try new flavors and a lot of culture. Tasty!

Try: Tacos Al Pastor! Why: Great cheap eats when you're craving tacos! Tacos Al Pastor were great and packed with meat. Table has onion and cilantro as well as additional salsas. Loved the green salsa. The steak in Taco De Asada were a little dry. We washed it down with horchata (conveniently in water bottle) and local Tulum Lager. Note: Inside and outdoor seating. Speedy service. Cash only. Great for a quick bite!
Hands down to the best al pastor meat that I had anywhere!
Hands down to the best al pastor meat that I had anywhere! The pork was perfectly seasoned and smoked. I ordered mine on queso taco and also tried it on queso sopas - loved them both!!! This place ended up being my boyfriend and I's go to dinner place in Tulum. During the entire trip, I believe we went here 3 or 4 times. Not only the food was amazing and very affordable, the service was also good as they serve your food fresh, hot and flavorful without waiting too long. This is a very busy restaurant and they are located on a big corner of the street. It can get very loud! We also went there one night and there was a group of people playing instruments inside.
unique service
The snacks are very good, the best thing is that the attention they give you is wonderful, and they are always helpful.
Excellent.
Quick, delicious and cheap. Must have the Al pastor which is cooked on a spit (like how gyros are made). Great for lunch.
Went with a large group (13).
Staff went above and beyond to get us seated and all our food out together. El pastor was amazing and the green and red salsas on the tables were amazing!
Very good, inexpensive
During our first day in Mexico and after following the Tripadvisor reviews, a very nice Mexican culinary discovery for us Very good Prepare for the request before us Both locals and tourist groups High flow rate therefore fresh product A very good local canteen
The best tacos of the holiday
This place was recommended to us by our hotel staff and they were right! The best tacos we have eaten, really tasty and tasty. We also tried the empanadas, they were also excellent, well stuffed and crunchy. The only flaw is that you have to arrive with cash.
Good snacks
I have never tried appetizers as tasty as these, without a doubt they have been very tasty and have a super delicious sauce.
Great place for dinner the locals and the tourists!
Excellent food in a restaurant on the corner seating indoors and outdoors. we loved our dinner there and weβll go back before we leave Tulum highly recommended!
Authentic Mexican Food
A really good, authentic and local spot. Highly recommended if you want a real Mexican experience. No bells and whistles, just simple, lovely Mexican food.

Simple and tasty! My favorites were the beef sopes and salude. The grinda had a really nice tortilla. The chicken was a bit dry. Horchata was refreshing. The place is colorful and casual. They had english menu. Tacos are pretty small so I'd recommed 3 or 4 per person. Something weird was that they did not give us an itemalized bill. The price did not seem to add up so when I asked for itemized bill they waiter was acting like he didn't understand what I was asking for.
They might be known for their Al Pastor but don't sleep on
They might be known for their Al Pastor but don't sleep on their asada! Delicious! Best and cheapest meal I had on my trip to Tulum last week. We sat inside and our server was super attentive. The only thing that was annoying was how adamant about getting a tip the busker that was inside at the time was, but that's not a dig on La Chiapaneca. Definitely go eat here!

Al pastor was amazing! We wanted to taste authentic mexican food and this was the right place at Tulum :)
Wow! I'm going to go out in a limb and say this could be
Wow! I'm going to go out in a limb and say this could be the best Al Pastor I've ever had. The meat was well seasoned, crispy on the outside without being dry. I had this in various forms: tacos, quesadillas, sopes and empanadas. All delicious but the quesadillas were the winners. You can get them in corn or flour tortillas and both were equally as tasty. the place to go for a cold beer and cheap eats when in Tulum
