Il Santo Bevitore Firenze Reviews from The Last Year
Nicest food this year!!
Nicest meal we had during our trip to Italy. Lovely atmosphere, delicious food (by far the nicest food we’ve eaten in the last year!) and amazing staff (nothing was too much bother for them - but without being over attentive! Perfect)
Highly recommended
My son Daniele, who had already been to this restaurant several times, took us to dinner. Excellent food, also served quickly and to everyone at the same time, which is very important. One of the owners of the place always present and attentive. We will definitely be back
Never again
We had booked for dinner at 9.30pm, we go in and they tell us that the reservation isn't there... we're already off to a good start! They make us wait outside without even apologizing and after about 15 minutes they find us a table (in front of the bathroom and kitchen). Service to be reviewed as the waitress not only does not know how to describe the dishes but also forgets to bring us a requested glass of wine! We order appetizer and first courses, a miserable and expensive appetizer and first courses we spread a pitiful veil... the curls with nduja should absolutely not be taken because they are inedible, the rest is also not at all up to par. We woke up hungry and with a high bill to pay! NEVER AGAIN
Great food
Located in a young/fun area, with not too many tourists, Il Santo has good service and great food. The Nduja pasta is incredible.
Top lunch
We had lunch in this Florentine restaurant, beautiful environment, reservations recommended! We started with a cheese starter, with an excellent 'A quo' red wine. For the little girl we ordered pasta with fresh tomato and parmesan, our first courses (tagliolini with clams and basil and wild boar ravioli with burrata), for the second course a dish of pigeon and suckling pig, truly excellent. To finish, a dessert (creme brûlé and zabaglione with biscuits) and coffee

Another tourist trap in Florence
Never seen a tartare served with mayonnaise. The second course of pork could not be cut with a knife as it was full of fat and hard. It would be fine if there were restaurant prices, but this way you really feel cheated. Once upon a time the food was good, but this too has now become a tourist trap. Very expensive.
Sin!
I was at dinner and we had booked for a week, we arrived 10 minutes late and they gave us a table in front of the kitchen and bathroom. I asked if there was another table available and was told the others were booked (I had booked too). I won't go back again just for the service. Sin!
TRADITIONAL 'MODERNIZED' CUISINE AND QUALITY OF PRODUCTS
Beautiful place, beautiful products and good Tuscan cuisine with a touch of modernity. We had booked in advance for 6. The welcome from the head waiter was cold and unsmiling, and there was no effort to understand us in English, but this is not unusual in restaurants from what I know. I was able to see during our stay in Florence (because of our tourist jeans/sneakers outfit?). Besides, no menu in English (although available, but not up to date :( on the restaurant's website). Once 'placed' on a table in a dark corner in front of the kitchen, next to the two other evening tourists, we somehow deciphered the map in the light of our smartphones... it was a bad start, but the waiter and waitress who took over were very pleasant. For the meal : Excellent selection of cheese and cold meats for starters, notably the chicken liver terrine (a little more produce for the price would have been nice, however) To follow: excellent Gighlio al Lampredotto ('Florentine-style tripe pasta': so fine that you don't feel like you're tasting tripe, the meat juice and fried artichoke make it even better) , classic but super effective Gharganelli and Ravioli, excellent veal medallion with fried artichoke, and a first-class buratta/spinach. For dessert: biscotti al Vin Santo (tasted and approved by all), very good strawberry mascarpone tart (strawberries in season in February?... little doubt). A very good culinary memory and great discoveries which make me (a little) forget a cold first welcome and the table at the back in the darkness. I recommend :)
Terrible service- woman dining solo
So shocked at the horrible service and treatment. I go to their wine bar next door all the time and love the food, vibe, people who work there. Amazing experience every time. The restaurant was absolutely rude, and terrible service. I had an 8pm reservation which they argued with me and said it was at 7:30 which it ewas not. They tried to put me in a small empty room when I requested a seat at the bar. As a woman dining alone, I was shocked by the rudeness. Then my wine glass was empty for 3o minutes and no one asked if I would like anything else. My pasta was so spicy it was inedible and they did not care. I left angry and would never go back. DONT GO BAD BAD BAD!!
Very good
All very good: Rabbit and joke appetizer 👍 Wild boar ravioli and ribollita 👍 Chocolate cake 👍 Eggnog (so-so, too bad)

So good we went two nights in a row! Make a reservation- this place fills up fast. The food is fantastic. I had the Tuscan Bread soup one night. It was not what I've seen before. It was thick. You could eat it with a fork - and it had layers of flavor. The second night I had Wild Boar Ravioli- wonderful. I had the shank one night. And I would have that again. The second night I have the filet - also great. My other half - spicy spaghetti both nights and he'd go back an again for it.
Highly recommend.
Good is great staff is great. Wine selection on the wall is fantastic.

Cozy ambience, good service and delicious smoked-broth wild boar ravioli. We tried some other dishes that weren't memorable but it's worth a trip for the Cinghiale!!!

Loved the food, service, and ambience! The veal cut like butter and exploded with flavor. the monkfish and pasta were divine. The Negroni was not top 10 but good enough. Chianti was superb. So glad to dine there!
