So good we went two nights in a row! Make a reservation- this place fills up fast. The food is fantastic. I had the Tuscan Bread soup one night. It was not what I've seen before. It was thick. You could eat it with a fork - and it had layers of flavor. The second night I had Wild Boar Ravioli- wonderful. I had the shank one night. And I would have that again. The second night I have the filet - also great. My other half - spicy spaghetti both nights and he'd go back an again for it.

Cozy ambience, good service and delicious smoked-broth wild boar ravioli. We tried some other dishes that weren't memorable but it's worth a trip for the Cinghiale!!!

Loved the food, service, and ambience! The veal cut like butter and exploded with flavor. the monkfish and pasta were divine. The Negroni was not top 10 but good enough. Chianti was superb. So glad to dine there!

I called ahead and they asked if the bar was okay since I was only one person. Perfecto. In traveling alone, you make great friends with bartenders. They become therapists and at times, your only friend. They are the only people who you know don't think you're weird for coming to a restaurant alone, or if they do think you're weird they still have to talk to you haha. I asked my new friend for food recs, and we ended up deciding on the spaghetti al pomodoro and the lamb shank. After dismantling the spaghetti and waiting on the lamb shank, I wrote this thought in my notebook and just wanted to share with you, internet people: "Traveling alone is a beautiful struggle. There are moments of exaltation where you feel absolute freedom and peace within yourself, and moments of near crippling anxiety. You are in a battle almost at all times. Battling with the external factors of "wow people must think I'm a loser" and the internal dialogue of "What the f*** am I doing?" Insecurities will inevitably pop up, but these are likely ones you have been pushing down for years. They need to be faced. But once you make peace with these moments, you realize you can be whoever you want to be. There is no pressure to do anything you don't want to, or be anything you don't want to be. In my opinion, it is the best way to figure out who you are in the shortest amount of time as you are at NO obligation to please anybody but yourself. You may realize there is a part of you that you have left in the past that you shouldn't have, or that there are current things in your life that you need to change. I firmly believe the best way to help others in the long term is to be the best version of yourself. It is a beautiful struggle, but there is no beauty without strug--" *BANG* The lamb shank gets SLAMMED on the table. GOD IT WAS PERFECT. Fell right off the bone and was exactly what I was hoping for. I also met a fellow solo traveler at the bar and we went and smoked some heaters and had some chianti at the bar next door. Shoutout to my guy Justin!
Be the first to ReplyA well known restaurant, we weren't fully convinced.
Perhaps a matter of taste, we felt the place was quite loud and the food was ok, but didn't stand out.
Be the first to ReplyTotally great.
No notes. Great service, great food. Ate lunch. They accommodated us and our six year old with warmth.

We arrived for lunch and were greeted warmly although we explained we had to cancel dinner reservations due to early rising time the following morning. No problem, sit here near the window and enjoy a nice lunch.Wonderful warm chicken livers with toasted brioche, followed by wild boar ravioli (wild boar is a new favorite we discovered this trip) and a shared egg cream zabaione for dessert. Our server, Michel, was warm, steered us in the right direction and had a wonderful full smile. Grazie.

Went when they opened at 7:30 and were told we could come back at 9:30. Went and had aperitivo at their Il Santino offshoot, then walked around a bit before returning. My boyfriend and I shared an order of one marrow, as well as the garganelli with zucchini and tomatoes and maccheroncetti with rabbit, followed by creme brûlée for dessert. Food was mostly solid, though not sure it was worth the wait. The garganelli was the highlight. On the opposite end, bone marrow was kind of tasteless. Overall it was good, though!
Be the first to ReplyMichel was the most phenomenal waiter.
I have dined in multiple Michelin star restaurants around the world, and he has a true talent. Best service during our Italian trip. Highly recommend. Ask for Michel.
Be the first to ReplyWas it a bad night? I thought this was just alright.
The bread and cured meats (prosciutto and salame) were extra dry. Presentation was definitely above average. Standout was the ponzu beef carpaccio (which in the English menu was labeled as marinated beef). Also had the risotto, gnocchi, and riccioli. All average. Momtblanc for dessert came with a tasty persimmon ice cream.
Be the first to ReplyIt was great! Definitely make a reservation.
We didn't have one but got lucky to seat at the bar. The service was great and the food was absolutely delicious. The portion are perfect not small not too big. We'll come back!
Be the first to ReplyWe loved the ambience.
So glad we arrived st 7:30 because otherwise we would not have gotten a table. We ordered the bread stew to try it. It was very good but filling. My salami pasta was hot. The waitress was afraid it would be too hot. That wasn't a problem. It was just too much salami. My husband's pasta was good in broth. Very creative entrees but we won't go back there.

I can't say enough good things about this restaurant, beginning with it's location in the Oltrarno (away from the madding crowd), and continuing through an wonderfully atmospheric setting with excellent service, an inviting menu, and well-crafted food. I ate here twice when I was In Florence recently, having already been there on prior trips. Reservations recommended. You won't be disappointed, especially with the cheese and charcuterie selections.

First off make a reservation you'll need it then enjoy!! The food here is amazing!! One of my favorite meals while visiting Italy. Everything we had was mouthwatering and memorable truly fantastic! We started with chicken liver terrine with brioche toasts. Fabulous melted in your mouth so much flavor and the brioche was so delicate. We then had the suckling pig which was cooked to perfection no knife needed it was like butter amazing. For dessert we had the white chocolate mousse with pistachio lime dacqouise, yogurt ice cream and fresh figs so good it was ridiculous. The staff was great and extra helpful somehow our reservation was lost but they got us a seat at the bar and I'm so thankful they did I would not want to miss out on this meal. I highly recommend you try Il Santo Bevitore if you have the chance you won't regret it.
Be the first to ReplyTried the pork per earlier reviewer and it was amazing.
Love the name: Holy Drinker. Husband was not as thrilled with his meal as I was as I would have given my meal a 5.

This is an excellent place to have a special dinner during the visit. Need reservations at least 24 hours ahead, 48 recommended. The food is unique and super tasty. The staff is very attentive. Great wine selection. All around -- one of the best restaurants in town. If on the menu -- try the pig. Awesome from all perspectives.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent!! This place was recommended by our tour guide.
Classy atmosphere (white linen and candles) and excellent food. Service was excellent as well. I enjoyed the Ravioli!
