Kahani London Reviews from The Last Year
My Kahani
What a discovery this place was. Excellent food, delightful service and lovely ambiance! A gem of a place. Can’t wait to return.
Very good bottomless brunch
Four of us went for the bottomless brunch on a Saturday. Decor and atmosphere are great and the wait staff were all friendly and attentive. Generous amounts of very tasty food and the Prosecco flowed very freely. If bottomless brunch is your thing, this is a very good experience.
Many plus points .......... and a few words of feedback
Had researched this restaurant on Tripadvisor and through their website, and decided to give it a try. Ambience : Excellent Service : Excellent Presentation : Excellent Food : Hmmmm........ a mixed bag , good but not exceptional The restaurant is large, beautifully decorated, spacious, well lit. Well done menus . No crowd on Sunday when it opened, not too many when we left either . Perhaps because they are open only two hours for lunch on Sundays All staff are attentive and well trained and customer oriented, a definite plus We started with cocktails ....... a gulab martini and a vodka curry twist. The gulab martini was very unusual, with flavours of rose and lychee and lime in vodka, and the curry twist was stunning ..........the flavour unique. Both cocktails are 110 ml, there are others upto 250 ml ( gin and tonic for example ) The starters - we both ordered the beetroot cutlets ...... i would have wanted the mustard sauce to be more evident though, but outstanding, crisp , delicious and beautifully done For mains we had a naan bread each, with the red pumpkin with ginger mustard sauce , and the chick pea masala with ginger and spring onion. Deliberate or not, I found both mains very delicately under spiced .... would have liked more in-your-face stronger flaours, could not discern the ginger or mustard really. I did find the pumpkin with the thick rind on it a bit of an irritant ...... the chick peas were not the big kabuli chana but more like indian white peas. The taste was tangy, with flavours of tamarind along with the other spices . The naans were well done. Quantities are reasonable. Dessert was the assorted Kulfi platter for myself - with Rose, Pista and Jack fruit . And my wife had the nan katai infused with masala chai with a scoop of hazel nut ice cream. Her dessert was most unusual, while the kulfi was pretty much standard. Overall a mixed bag ....... nothing wrong with the food, but probably we are not much into highly creative fusion food or "contemporary" Indian, are more traditional. I am sure many will rave over it, for us it was an interesting experience, good but not outstanding.
Truly Magnificent Food
We visited Kahani for the first time tonight before attending an event at Cadogan Hall. The decor is really chic, yet comfortable and welcoming. The staff were incredible throughout the evening, particularly Azim who really looked after us, was kind and warm and able to advise us very well based on his extensive knowledge of the menu. We really enjoyed chatting to him. The moment a glass was empty we were offered a refill and the staff were so, so attentive without being intrusive. The food was simply exceptional. Each dish was visually pleasing and utterly delicious , and literally made our mouths water. I’ve heard food critics talk about layers of flavouring but until tonight I’m not sure I ever truly understood what they meant. Tonight I did. We had the Smoked Prawn and the Tandoor lamb chop to start. We couldn’t decide so Azim helpfully suggested ordering both and having 1 piece of each as a starter. This worked perfectly and we found each dish to be exquisite. We followed this with the Chicken Makhani (silky with a real depth of flavour without being spicy hot) and the Lobster tail (best lobster dish my Mum had ever eaten) accompanied by a crisp naan bread and fluffy, tasty rice. We shared the ‘ Chocolate Delight’ for dessert which is like a decadent crispy praline cake, served with fresh, tangy mandarin ice cream. We had such a wonderful time at Kahani and will return soon with other family members. Huge congratulations to the team for creating such an exceptional restaurant .
This was absolutely one of the best meals I had in London.
Think elevated South Asian cuisine, good enough to merit a Michelin star. Ya, I said it. We took our kiddo with us, and they were incredibly welcoming and accommodating. Our waiter, Dave Raj, was so knowledgeable, kind, and accommodating. Ambiance was sexy, chill, and warm, and we were luckily tucked away in a corner booth for a private and relaxing dining experience. We shared a bunch of small dishes, and it was perfection: -Berry papdi chaat, spiced chickpeas with sweetened yogurt, wild berry & tamarind chutney. Crunchy, sweet, and spicy. - Samosa platter, Punjabi Aloo, kolhapuri chicken, Madras lamb. These were some of the flakiest samosas I've ever had. So buttery, and the veggie and chicken samosa legit made my mouth expode. My husband ordered the scallops and crab, and his taste buds blew up. Epic, he proclaimed. For our mains, we tried several items, sides, and naans: My husband enjoyed the smoked Malabar prawns and lamb chops, and called them otherworldly. - The trio of chicken tikka tandoor grilled chicken supreme with cream cheese, pickling spices & Rajasthani chops was solid, and sauce was bangin', I wouldn't order this again, but I'd ask for a bowl of the red pepper sauce. Yes, it was that good. The Hydrabadi Biryani was packed with veggies, mint, coriander, and other magical spices. I really enjoyed this. - Saag Paneer was disappointingly bland, and the paneer wasn't melt-in-your-mouth delicious. -Chicken Makhani, a tender and buttery chicken dish dressed in creamy tomato sauce was also bangin', and honestly delightful with buttery naan. * Jeera aloo was an interesting take. The potatoes appeared to be roasted and dressed with rich spices. It was a creative and inventive take. * Garlic naan & Cheese chilli naan-do yourself a favor and ordered these two for dipping and scooping. My fave was the garlic naan. To wrap things up, we enjoyed two desserts: raspberry couli (baked berry cheesecake) and chocolate delight which was a chocolate torte with mandarin ice cream. Both offered a delightful finish to our dining adventure. As far as mocktails, ask for the mango, passion fruit, mint, and lime libation. It's the best on the menu, trust me. I would def return, and I hope they get their star soon. They deserve it.
Brilliant Indian food
Great and cozy restaurant in London with excellent Indian cuisine. It's worth going down the stairs because of the attentive and friendly service as well as the sensational food. The wine accompaniment is perfectly coordinated.
Lovely experience, great service
Visited today for lunch on a Sunday. All of the menus on offer (2 x tasting, bottomless brunch, a la carte) had their merits but we eventually chose bottomless brunch and were certainly not disappointed. When asked about dietary requirements by the waiter I mentioned that i was vegetarian, and was then presented with a separate vegetarian bottomless brunch menu which was a pleasant surprise as the regular menu included vegetarian options which I was more than happy with. Both of us were very pleased with both the quality and the amount of food, we were both stuffed without even ordering repeats of any of the dishes! The service was fantastic, polite and friendly and with a sense of humour, and it was nice that all waiters served you and were very attentive with it, so you didn’t have wait for one particular waiter. Felt that the bottomless brunch offers good value for money and certainly would recommend to others.
Sunday lunch
We had a wonderful lunch time experience in the Kahani restaurant, the staff were so friendly and accommodating and the food was extremely tasty. Will definitely be visiting again in the near future.
Optimal
Great restaurant, with really delicious food. Tried the tandoori lamb chops, among the best I've ever eaten, but also the chicken Kahani. The date and walnut desert was delicious. Not to be missed. Quick and courteous service
Beyond amazing.
The food was prepared with so much detail to the flavor! I loved everything we ate and the Biryani was the BEST I've ever tasted in my life. Do NOT skip the dessert - it is worth it! I loved the quiet downstairs dining room for its peaceful and delicate decor. If you love scallops, DO NOT MISS the scallop appetizer. It's fantastic.
Bottomless Appreciation
The place is beautiful and the service is excellent. Food was great, but as with many restaurants it was the starters that stood out, with the dessert a close second. I had a Shaadi cocktail, which was excellent. We had the Bottomless Brunch menu. The waiters could not be more helpful and offered to get more of anything we wanted. We had extra of the Beetroot Chop and Tandoori Broccolli, but ended up with a little of our mains left over - perhaps should not have had any breakfast beforehand. You can see the Michelin heritage of the head chef/patron with the attention to detail and presentation, together with beautiful twists on known dishes - who could imagine a humble gulab jamoon with ice cream could be sooooo good.
A story of eastern wonders
The restaurant was superb, from the decor to the wonderfully upbeat floor manager and the taster menu was just the best. They need a better supply of larger beer bottles though, I was served a tepid small beer which was my only gripe - the chef had a chat with us which was great, we loved it there, highly recommended.
Fabulous tasting menu
Joined friends in London for a fabulous meal. We are from Leeds and have a curry most weeks but were intrigued as to how different michelin rate food would be. Warmly welcomed and led downstairs to quite a large dining area with a good atmosphere. Opted for the tasting menu with drinks pairing as it gave the most variety of choice and would involve dishes we'd not normally try. First seafood starters were excellent, and whilst small portions, ie 1 large Malabar prawn they were delicious, more would actually be less. Whole meal was excellent as was service, yes it is expensive but it's London and the food is of a very high standard. Only one slight criticism was that everytime the front door was opened, a very cold draught descended, maybe a curtain or something at top of stairs, just for cold winter months ?
Bottomless brunch
Bottomless brunch on Mothering Sunday was outstanding. Free flowing bubbles, warm and friendly service and amazing food with lots of variety. Highly recommend
An Amazing Meal!
What an amazing meal! Despite the online reservation system indicating that solo diners were not eligible for the tasting menu, the server — who expressed amused confusion — kindly disabused me of the impression and went on to deliver one of the best Indian cuisine meals I’ve had in years! The wine pairing made it a wonderful treat too. The initial dishes that included a chickpea with yogurt, scalop, prawn, and the chicken will kill you into wondering if you may need a snack after dinner to tie you over, the main course will entirely crush you leaving you pleasantly if not overly full! Amazing! Don’t sleep on the cocktails thought. There are some real treasures there, especially the spiced rum one.
Every single person who works at this restaurant loves food
Every single person who works at this restaurant loves food and appreciates the effort and talent required to generate a meal that wows. Every course in the tasting menu wowed. Each had the precise mix of spice and crunch that awed me. And the lamb chops were the best I've ever tasted. Bravo! Don't hold back! Do the tasting menu with wine pairings. You will not regret it. Not one little bit.

Great Service - amazing dinner!!
Read about the site in NYT and bought a reservation at Mother Wolf in LA 2 days later. Worked great and the food was amazing!!!
Worked perfectly!
Got the reservation (that I couldn't get anywhere else) and was able to entertain a group of friends at the infamous Bern's Steakhouse.
Got into Nobu Malibu
Wonderful! My parents are visiting and we have wanted to go to Nobu Malibu for years. I tried getting a reservation myself but it was next to impossible. So glad I was able to buy a reservation on appointment trader for a decent price!
Very easy
Was very hesitant going into this experience but am glad to say that it worked out very well ! will definitely use appointment trader in the future
Fabulous Lunch
I was veeeeeerry skeptical that this would work, particularly at a restaurant as hard to get into as Nobu Malibu, and it was perfect! We had lunch outside on the patio and it was fabulous!
Great reviewer team
Just wanted to take a second to shout out the reviewer team. Even though they probably review hundreds of listings and bids a day, they still take the time to leave great comments and respond relatively quickly. Thanks!
Incredible
I got a reservation to Don Angie, which I've been trying to book for weeks! I am very happy with this service.
Best platform out there!
Super simple, easy, and fast to secure reservations for hard-to-get restaurants and locations!
This app is life changing
This app has opened my world up to so many wonderful new experiences I would never have the chance to have without access to this awesome app! 10/10!

Was a little nervous at first but was pleased to see that the booking went through flawlessly.

Worked well, got me into a restaurant with no availability
I was skeptical, and I still don't really know how they managed to find this hard-to-find reservation, but it was a win-win from my point of view, and I'll use this service again.
Last minute reservation for Delilah Las Vegas
Got a last minute reservation, dinner for 2 at Delilah Las Vegas: super impressed! The process was simple, transaction seamless. We had an amazing time! Couldn’t be happier! 😍
It works!
Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!
Money transfer
As a seller, I like the fact i have the ability now to transfer money out of my AT account and into a bank account. Makes getting the money much easier then the process before.
Love this app
Got to go to places otherwise unreachable
Easy Access
Very easy to get into one of the hardest restaurants to reserve in New York.
Whose name will my reservation be under when I arrive at the venue?
It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!

I will give you 50% of ALL of my PROFITS if you teach me how to make profits?
LOL. Thank you The New Yorker.
Appointment
Transferring reservations is not supported in AT. Why not just use the name in the AT screenshot?
Buyers interested in Bern's Steakhouse: PLEASE READ
Same goes for 4 Charles and I Sodi
Prepaid Reservation Fee
Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
Congrats on 3 mil
🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🧨🧨🧨 now on to 30 mill!
Need to cancel a bid, not getting a response… how do I do it?
Click on "Take off the Market Option" in your portfolio
Working on your bid?
Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.
Process after bid is accepted.
Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from?
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered?
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
