Mariebelle New York Reviews from The Last Year
What an absolutely stunning setting to have afternoon tea.
I wanted something different from the afternoon tea I've had in the past (Prince Tea House, Alice's Tea Cup, King's Carriage, Russian Tea Room). It's not totally something you can compare to other experiences, especially if you'd had tea in the UK as well. But what I think distinguished MarieBelle is how simple it is. The tea list is definitely not broad, but they are honestly oh so very delicious. That chocolate black tea is *chef's kiss*. Speaking of chocolate... I definitely wish I ordered an iced chocolate, but I was already over my sugar tolerance hehe. So here my friend and I show up to our Tuesday 2pm reservation. Four other patrons occupying two other tables. One server, doing a great job juggling all of us. The afternoon tea set is $70pp. Tip, probably try to secure a bigger table to hold all those goodies and tea. Each finger sandwich and mini pastry makes a happy tongue for me, though if you're not used to more earthy tastes like beet/butternut squash, might not be your cup of tea *ba dum tss*.
What a cute, quaint cafe! I'm a sucker for afternoon teas
What a cute, quaint cafe! I'm a sucker for afternoon teas and MarieBelle hit the spot! When you walk in you'll be in chocolate heaven as the shop has so many chocolate items in cute packaging to purchase - that alone had mouth watering lol. The actual cafe isn't big but they make it work! They have it roped off until you're able to be seated. There was one waiter working the entire cafe (that's how small it is) and his name is Johnny the Troublemaker! Now Johnny was amazing! He was never stressed by handling everything himself (he did have a helper). He was attentive, explained everything thoroughly and was engaging. I hope he is working on the day that I go back- he really enhanced our experience! He gave us a chocolate drink shot to get us started. It was so rich and decadent I wanted to drink an entire vat of it lol. We ordered mimosas and for once I have to say I actually tasted the champagne! If you've read any of my reviews you know that most places I go to don't really give you any alcohol in their drinks so this was quite the surprise. We had the afternoon tea service - I had the chocolate rose tea and it was so good. The tea service started with a small split pea soup in the cutest cup with little spoon. The soup was delicious and definitely left you wanting more. The rest of the service was typical tea service items scones, finger sandwiches, macaroons, etc. To our surprise we left there feeling quite full which hasn't happened at other teas that I've been to. I couldn't walk by through the store without buying myself a treat to go - the box of chocolates I selected was not only delicious but beautifully packaged. I wanted to savor it but just couldn't it was just that good. I can't wait to take my granddaughters there and make it a yearly event - it's so darn cute!

This is a fun business with fantastic craftsmanship and incredibly delicious chocolate; I will shop again and recommend it to anyone who enjoys fun, tasty chocolate.
This place is fantastic.
Great service and great chocolate. Cute place to hang out on a rainy day
Whenever I want a tiny, artisan hot chocolate I go here.
Yes, it's $8.00 but its perfect and it's all I need. I go for the chili spiced dark chocolate. It's thick and not too sweet. It certainly takes the edge off on a chilly day. Sadly, it has ruined me for all other hot chocolate. Max Brenner makes a thick one also but it tastes synthetic. The hot chocolate at Marie Belle is the real deal.
My friends and I enjoyed an afternoon dessert hangout here!
My friends and I enjoyed an afternoon dessert hangout here! Firstly, props to MarieBelle because they were flexible with our reservation (It helped that it wasn't super busy, but since our friend was running late from NJ, we were nervous about having the reservation forfeited but they were sweet about it). Service was great overall. Our server was very friendly and refilled our waters many times throughout. We were also given a sample of the milk chocolate - hazelnut flavor, which was delish. My friends and I each ordered a hot chocolate. I ordered a small and thank goodness I did. The hot chocolates are delicious yes, but SO RICH. And if you order desserts with chocolate, it's a lot. I specifically ordered the "Spicy" flavor, and the spices are quite strong. It was delish but I think next time I will go for one of the non-spicy flavors. What were the desserts we ordered, you ask? We ordered the LAVA CAKE aka the moelleux au chocolat. Which was so chocolately, decadent, a hot oozing inside, and yes, very VERY rich. It's very well prepared. And that's where the "too much chocolate" comment comes into play. To warn others of this fate - either order the lava cake + tea (or non chocolate beverage) or the hot chocolate and non-chocolate food items. That is simply my preference based on my experience, and I'm a chocolate lover! I will say the lava cake comes with vanilla ice cream, which is an amazing combo. I enjoyed the passionfruit tart we got as well. As we were told by the server, it was the last one they had. The tart's crust was difficult to cut into/quite hard. (Not sure if that's because it was sitting there for a long time or that's the normal consistency, but I personally found it a little too stiff and molded). We also ordered some scones because it came with the "MarieBelle special". They were just okay. They came with butter and jelly spreads! I recommend MarieBelle for someone looking for a place with a cute/pretty aesthetic because you will get that here. The hot chocolates are truly special, and the foods were okay to me - the standout dish was the lava cake. The service is the cherry on top, because everyone is really nice which makes the experience well worth it.
Beautiful hot chocolate bar and excellent service.
The food was amazing. Will definitely make another reservation.

Conquered the rain for the dreamiest high tea at @mariebelleofficial ! We were welcomed by the sweetest staff and treated to complimentary white hot chocolate while we browsed the menu (genius!). Their hot chocolate options with alternative milk are amazing (mine: midnight espresso with oat milk, hubby's: spiced). Both were incredible! The finger sandwiches were delicious, and the scones with fig & strawberry jams were heavenly. This place is really cute and cozy. Can't recommend this experience enough!

The definition of decadence, from the decor of a palace, to the hot drinking chocolate and small bites of beautiful macrons. The cocoa shop on the back was wonderful and a highly caloric take on tea time. The waiter was attentive and welcoming without being over the top. We shared a small white chocolate vanilla drink and I can't imagine having more than that in one sitting. It was a lovely and memorable experience.
