Marque Restaurant Hoorn Reviews from The Last Year
Unforgettable smoking menu
Top top top! Culinary experience trip to the Mediterranean. Great service. So attentive and friendly. Great stories about every dish and wine. Never experienced cheese like this before. The restaurant is bursting with joie de vivre and hospitality. Unforgettable. Highly recommended 😍
Fine dining in Hoorn
Weekend away with husband. Delicious food. Marque's concept is for top quality. Focus slightly on the monthly menu. Ate 5 courses, all 5 courses had the wow factor. Delicious wine arrangement (half glasses). Fantastic start to our weekend!
Heaven in Hoorn.
What a fantastic address! Everything is perfect: the ambiance, the service and of course the kitchen. Never over the top, never unnecessarily complicated. Simply perfect flavors that also look beautiful. Ultimate enjoyment.
Classy yet casual
Great food and very enjoyable. Classy yet casual. If we are in the area again, we will definitely come here again.
Delicious! also for Lunch or a glass of wine!
We had planned a light lunch here for my birthday, indicating in advance that I was coming to celebrate my birthday with my husband. This was anticipated from the start and was immediately welcomed with a glass of delicious bubbles. this was also explained professionally! then had a delicious meal from the A-la-Cart menu with the Signature Truffle risotto!! ending with a dessert based on the Amalfi Lemon! (Best 2 choices if you ask me!) Definitely want to come back here hopefully for my next birthday! Thank you very much team Marque and Chef Mark de Korte!!
Amazing experience! Hope Michelin wakes up!!
I recently ate at Marque restaurant in Hoorn, had a great dinner experience. It's right from start to finish. You will be warmly welcomed with a starting welcome bite that is already on the table. What is well told and the Mediterranean cuisine is highlighted, this will be repeated throughout the evening! We then enjoyed an overwhelming 6-course Signature menu. The chef's flavors are well explained and also the memories the chef has of certain products. For example, the signature with the risotto with truffle! Had a wonderful evening! With exciting combinations also focused on wine and food! What a great addition to the evening! Thank you very much Team Marque! (Now waiting for Michelin to be the same)
Food and service top notch, openly making exceptions did not feel hospitable
Food was very good, as was the service. The tables are cramped, so people kept walking past the table. It was disturbing that the manager/owner sat down at the table (apparently with friends/acquaintances) and opened a magnum bottle of red wine in front of the table and continued to sit and drink. While the regular menu had partridge as a main course, a large piece of meat was placed on the grill for this table. It is an open kitchen and therefore visible to everyone. That felt second rate. The turbot with truffle and especially the accompanying ice cream foam was the highlight of the evening.
Could have been better
Been twice before, this time it was somewhat disappointing, menu was issued after questions about this, the message came that a number of dishes were no longer offered, a new menu would be printed the next day. In short, report something like this earlier. To this day, the old menu still appears on the website. The turbot at 55.00 euros was not worth it in terms of price-quality ratio. Shame.
Just above average.
Been here before a couple of times. We thought then the place was a little pretentious, then - and it actually still is, which is a pity, for a joint that only a few years ago missed a Michelin star by a hair. The interior is rather bland, for which the wonderfully artsy Fellini-Charlotte Rampling black-and-white photos of lots of rather skinny naked ladies do -alas- not make up. One cook, one host, four guests: service was nice and thoughtful: upon noticing that I gave my oyster amuse away to my table companion (I have a purine problem) another amuse was brought discreetly. Somewhat disturbing and rather unprofessional: a simple orechiette was ordered from the menus main courses However, came the moment of serving, the orechiette turned out to be ... fusilli. Ah, yes: they were out of orechiette - and they forgot to mention that when we ordered, AND during preparation AND during serving. The word 'sorry'was not heard. - An orechiette that was not an orechiette - at 38,- Euro's ( mind you: some fusilli, two green asparagi, two halved and griled artichokes, a little pecorino and some sauce, well made but certainly nothing to write home about) and a well-prepared but certainly not let-us-dance-on-the-tables piece of tarbot (180 grams at 55,- Euros) - not to mention (as I will anyway) the rather expensive bottle of mineral water... - Pity - it could have been much more then just above average. At this price level, we were justified to expect a little more. Nice bread, though.
