For the lack of Indian food in Maui, this is one of the only options. Family owned business, this is a solid choice. Limited choices. The dosas are great and so is everything else. Clean, well presented food.
I'm going to say it.
I'm an Indian that lives in Maui. When I saw that this place had dosas I got really excited. First I'll start with the good stuff and then I will express my disappointment. Flavor, texture and chutney are delicious no doubt. If you want an Indian treat this will do the trick. So it's a quality tasting Dosa but it has a big BUT for me as an Indian who cherishes Dosas like americans do fried chicken or Donuts. What is with the size? I feel like this is a "Hawaiian Dosa" where everything is in smaller portions for the same money or more expensive. And it really doesn't take that much effort or batter to make a slightly larger dosa that would WOW everyone. So that's my complaint, every dosa i've ever had in my life was larger than life. I go here and its miniature. Let's not skimp. Dosa's are supposed to have that HUGE wow factor and I just feel like it would have made the biggest difference in my experience. Flavor is great. Authentic dosa experience is lacking. I'm sure most of you don't know the difference but I would respect it more if it was that giant dosa you get at the Indian Sweets & Spices that is bigger than your face. That's part of the dosa magic.
The place is unreal, don't walk.
.. run for there curry, They seem to have an overwhelming support by all the others trucks, a don't mess wit me kinda vibe, we are doing our best everyday, n I love it!!
Their Masala Dosas and Samosas are super good and pair well
Their Masala Dosas and Samosas are super good and pair well with their Tamarind Sauce! Especially love the cilantro inside of the Dosas - if you're looking to find great North and South Indian Cuisine on Maui, Satrang is the place to visit - Miguel Morales Photography
Ambiance was great.
Found food to be not very flavorful and over priced for what was offered. Nothing like the photos. Seems like they are cutting cost
Loved their dosas! Very fresh & flavorful.
Mango lassi was good, with flavors of rose & cardamom. Coconut chutney and sambhar were tasty too. The food truck is in a very nice area with handwashing stations, play area for kids, games for adults etc
Yummy Indian food truck with lots of vegan/vegetarian
Yummy Indian food truck with lots of vegan/vegetarian options! I've never had dosas before and I'm now a fan (kind of like a crepe). The flavors were all unique and wonderful. Everything was fresh and filling. I wish this was in my neighborhood in California!
