The Broadmoor Fort Carson Reviews from The Last Year
Top notch, in every way!
Staying at The Broadmoor, is an experience like no other. Amazingly, everything was more than perfect. Beautiful property, beautiful spacious room, very attentive and friendly service, wonderful meals, in all of the 9 restaurants. There are many activities available right on the property. We stayed 5 nights. There is no need to leave the resort. Everything is right, on site. We love the fitness classes. The falconry experience, was our favorite. One of the 4 hotel managers, Alan, gave us a brief overview of this fabulous hotel, telling us that he started as a bellman , many years ago. He has loved working here, ever since. Later in our room, we found a beautiful book, about the Broadmoor history, waiting for us. A gift from Alan. We came as part of a corporate incentive trip, and plan to return as a couple. They have many special events, year round. Alan gave us lots of ideas, for return trips. One of his favorites, is the jazz weekend in April. We are hoping for a return visit, very soon! Thank you, to The Broadmoor, for a perfect 5 night vacation!
Very expensive- not true service. Very "mercenary"
The resort is breathtakingly beautiful! The service is not what I would expect for $350 per night. They charge a ADDITIONAL $42 per day "resort fee" which I don't know WHAT that was for. There are additional fees for everything....for 1 bottle of wine and a small snack and it was $200!!!! and it was not an expensive wine. We were kicked out of the hot tub because the "pool area closes at 7 pm" ....are you freaking kidding me???? What difference does it make? Serve your customers!!!! There isn't a lifeguard anyway, so what difference does it make? I won't be staying here again. The valet parking is $45 per night and the self park is $15 per night. The electricity went off and they were ill-prepared for it. My friend was stuck in the elevator for over an hour and they did very little to help. I don't know if they provided anything to the conference for the inconvenience of the the power being out for over 4 hours. For the amount of money we spent, it was very disappointing. I will stay elsewhere in the future.
Poor communications- expect a runaround
This property has TERRIBLE ability to communicate starting with the ability to speak and understand English. Technically the people on the phone speak English but with very difficult to understand accents. Tried to make brunch reservations for Mother’s Day and was told I could not make reservations without a room reservation confirmation, which I intended to get. They passed me through to concierge who passed me to reservations. I reserved 2 rooms with no problems then got transferred to concierge. When I asked about brunch reservations now that I had hotel confirmation I was placed on hold while they checked. After about 5 minutes I was told that they would have to check and could not guarantee a reservation at this time. I told them that the reason I was staying at the hotel was for the brunch and that I would cancel hotel reservation if I could not get brunch. They said they would get back to me as soon as they could. I asked how long that might be and they said they would try to make it in 24 hours but again no guarantee. What kind of service is this for a “top rated” property? I get better service from a Quality Inn and I CERTAINLY get better service from top rated properties like The Jefferson, The Greenbriar, Monarch Beach Resort, etc. I was ready to spend $3,000 for one night (2 rooms) and brunch but after getting the runaround decided to cancel. I called the reservation desk and got a very pleasant English speaking person. When I told her I wanted to cancel she asked why. When I explained the situation she did everything she could to try to talk me out of cancelling. She wanted to transfer me to all kind of people…here come the transfers. I finally INSISTED that she cancel the reservations she finally did. We will stay at the Four Seasons in Denver and eat their brunch. It is basically the same menu and considerably cheaper!
Complete Bust. Not a "Luxury Resort" by any measure.
Our beds were far too firm. None of us slept well during our stay. There was a strange large opening between the bathroom and the sleeping area with closing shutters in-between that let light through. If you get up earlier than anyone else and want to shower and get ready without waking everyone else, forget it. The threshold between the bath and the rest of the room was raised and then downhill so it's a dangerous in the dark. The rest of the room was nothing to write home about. Certainly not what I would expect from a "luxury" resort. There is a $40/day "resort" fee and a $40/valet fee. If you want to park yourself, it's still $30/day. The restaurant prices are outrageous (especially the alcohol) and the quality of the meals in no way supports the cost (we ate on site every night). Our best meal was at the Ristorante Del Lago. The hotel charges a 20% service charge at the restaurants regardless of the quality of service. We ate one night at "Play" and bowled after our meal. The bowling was included on the meal bill and we were charged a 20% service charge for the bowling also. I guess even if you bowl, drink nothing and eat nothing, they would still charge you 20% over the bowling cost. The other "cafes" that aren't restaurants charge a 10% service fee for merely taking your money and possibly handing you something. I called to schedule fishing at the "Fish House" two weeks out. They didn't know if the pond/lake would be still frozen over. Called again one week out, same story. When we were there, the ponds/lakes were not frozen over. We tried to schedule fishing on two different days during our stay. We did not receive a call back the first time and the second time were told that they sent texts/emails out to potential persons to do this activity with us then never heard back again. Strike one on the amenities. Tried to schedule tennis twice. The courts were to be occupied by a "camp" no availability to resort guests. Strike two on the resort amenities. The indoor pool is small and "okay" but there is one tiny hot tub for use by the entire complex. Ridiculous. Strike three on the resort amenities. What am I even paying the $40/day "resort fee" for? We had pre scheduled and paid for the Broadmoor Cog Railway trip to the top of Pikes Peak. It was cancelled due to weather. Not really their fault but still a really bummer that added to our stay being a real bust in every way. I've stayed at a lot of luxury resorts and hotel and I can tell you I was completely underwhelmed and don't consider The Broadmoor in the same category as any of them.
2024 and it's BAD. Spend your money elsewhere
Very beautiful location. Horribly rude staff. You will be nickle and dimed from arrival to departure. Food is overpriced and of low quality. This hotel has an US vs You mentality. Will not spend 1 cent at this place. And its a shame. There are a couple of good employees, but management needs a new face. old ways for old thinkers. Be better
Best place to visit on planet earth!
It's hard to even say this but this was the nicest resort that I have been to inside and outside the country. The experience was just outstanding! Up the hill will make your oxygen level drop a bit but it was completely worth it. the pools, the spa, the interior was just prestigious.
Glad we tried it-- but
My husband and I went the day after Christmas for two nights. Check in was smooth and we were assigned the South tower . The rooms are updated in the South tower. Our view was the parking lot unfortunately, even though we asked for a room with a view. The room was very nice, small hallway to the door prevented noise except for the slamming doors. Bathroom was nice. Beds comfy. We called down for ice and waters and they brought them right away. Great service. The resort was packed with kids running around and the indoor pool was a madhouse. Lots of kids on break from school, so it was crazy. We were only able to get reservations at two of the restaurants due to overcrowding. You are not allowed to have even a pizza delivered and if you want, say a pizza , you must walk all around the lake to get to get it at the Italian restaurant which had no reservations available. The food is super pricey-- delicious of course-- but prepare yourself for at least $100 to $150 for two -- no drinks even-- per meal. Do Not order room service!! The first night we were told it was a three hour , yes a three hour wait for food.. how crazy!!-- next night, we tried again . It took 45 min. We ordered one quesadilla, a pop and a beer it was over 60.00 dollars.. they tack on a 24% charge and an additional $6.00 charge for delivery-- so ridiculous. All restaurants automatically tack on 20% for tip no matter what-- just be aware. I think for one night just to experience this place is ok... anything over that you will pay, pay, pay!! The bowling alley costs $75.00 per lane -- only 3 or 4 lanes and of course zero reservations available. It may be best to go off season and prepare yourself for super high prices, limited reservations available-- and bring in your own snacks and beer or soda etc.
Birthday at the Broadmoor
This was our second trip here to celebrate my granddaughter's birthday. They are always just next level when it comes to service and making my birthday girl feel special. The room and bed were amazing, we looked out over the lake with a Juliet balcony. The beds were very comfortable and the bathroom was just beautiful and spacious-perfect for a family of girls! The concierge was very helpful in helping me plan dinners while we were staying. The Summit was extra special, and the meal was wonderful. I can't say enough again about the service their people provide. From check in, to the housekeeping staff, concierge, and restaurant staff-- everyone seemed to love their job and had a smile on! We will definately be back again!
Extraordinary Service
My husband and I stayed at the Broadmoor the week after Christmas which I later found out is one of their busiest weeks. We have stayed at the Broadmoor before and each time it has been exceptional. This time it was even better than expected due to the kindness, understanding and assistance of all of the staff but especially Christian Rolla, the assistant manager. We had to check out early due to my husband's off-site accident. Mr. Rolla made my requested special arrangements in a timely manner and without blinking an eye. Reservations for dinner and a falconry lesson were cancelled without a charge. Our car was dropped off in front of our building and the bell hop brought our luggage to that drop off location so that my injured husband did not have to walk to the main lobby as is customary. Mr. Rolla listened attentively to my story about the accident and was very sympathetic and concerned. We both experienced care and compassion by all the staff. Besides the care, courtesy, professionalism, and friendliness of all of the Broadmoor employees, the environment was gorgeous and well maintained. Our handicap accessible room was beautiful, clean and on the sixth floor with a balcony and a large window offering exceptional views of the city and Christmas lit grounds. The room was quiet (despite the hotel being fully booked) and close to the main building. We had room service for 2 dinners since all restaurants were fully booked and we traveled with our dog. Brenda with room service was extremely helpful. Our food was warm and tasty and delivered promptly at the requested time. The turn-down service staff left clean towels, water and chocolates as promised. Our most significant regret besides my husband's accident was that we had to leave early. Hopefully we will be able to return soon. Thank you to all of the exceptional staff and a special thank you to Christian Rolla, staff manager, who treated us with professionalism and warmth. Nancy
