We showed up with no reservation and were seated quickly in a lovoely table even though it was quite busy. The best part of the meal was our server Mateus, he took great care of us and made sure our order was brought out quickly and efficiently and was attentive without hovering He was the real 5 stars of the restaurant
Night 1- Sitting at the bar.
Drinks are incredible. The sticky toffee pudding is the best I have ever had. Sebastian the bartender was the best. Young hostess was grand and gave us recommendations in Paris. Night 2- Reservations late. The elder hostess was snooty because we asked for a larger table. Three persons in our group were well over 6'. French onion soup was really good. Then we waited for over 1-1/2 (complaining twice) before our food showed up. My risotto was barely warm and the truffles were woody and inedible. They did give us a round of drinks and removed my meal from the bill. I would recommend The Ivy in Belfast before dining here again.
A Celebration Overshadowed by Haste: A Mixed Experience at the ivy Asia St Paul’s.
Anticipation ran high for what was meant to be a landmark evening — a joint celebration of milestone birthdays for our family, for which the table had been reserved months in advance. We opted for the full experience menu, seeking something truly special to mark the occasion. The setting promised refinement; the reputation suggested excellence. And while there were moments of culinary brilliance, the overall experience fell short in ways that were as surprising as they were disappointing. We had informed the restaurant ahead of time that we would be celebrating an 18th birthday. In settings of this calibre, one expects at least a modest acknowledgment — a simple "happy birthday" would have sufficed. Yet, not a single member of staff extended even the most cursory gesture. In a venue that so clearly curates every detail of its service, the oversight felt strikingly impersonal. Our evening began on a high note with an exceptional round of cocktails — expertly crafted, visually striking, and every bit as celebratory as we had hoped. The tasting menu that followed was, in terms of execution, unquestionably accomplished. Each dish was a visual and technical triumph, showcasing the kind of kitchen precision one expects at this price point. Yet, the service that accompanied them told a different story. Rather than guiding us through a leisurely culinary journey, courses were served in rapid succession, scarcely allowing us time to savour or discuss each plate before the next arrived. This sense of urgency undercut the experience. When we requested a short pause before dessert — a chance to simply breathe and enjoy the moment — the staff failed to honour it. One member of our party was briefly away from the table when dessert arrived, missing the dramatic dry ice presentation entirely. By the time he returned, the magic had dissipated into melted ice cream and lukewarm doughnuts. But the most egregious misstep came at the close of the evening. Despite arriving early for our 6:30 reservation, we were effectively rushed out of the restaurant before finishing our post-dessert drinks. Tea and cocktails were cleared with disconcerting speed, and we were asked — multiple times — to vacate the table. For a dining experience costing £100 per person, on a night of personal significance, the treatment felt transactional at best, dismissive at worst. It is, of course, understandable that a high-end restaurant must manage its covers efficiently, particularly on a bustling Saturday night. But when one markets an "experience" — and charges accordingly — time and care must be part of the offering. Guests who have saved and waited for a singular evening out deserve more than a perfunctory performance. There was undeniable talent in the kitchen and brilliance in the bar, but the soul of hospitality — that intangible sense of being truly welcomed and cared for — was conspicuously absent. And that, ultimately, is what lingers longest.
Great place
Great food and ambiance! We sat near the window overlooking St Pauls. Really recommend the glazed chicken. And Precious was really welcoming and helpful!

Went for my boyfriend’s birthday to The Ivy Asia, it was such a beautiful experience. The service from the door was amazing, we were served by Precious who made the experience absolutely wonderful. Thank you so much to the team!

We were charged for deserts when it wasn't supposed to happen. The waiter was upset we didn't have expensive drinks. The reaction was weird. Service was poor. We sat near a dirty checkout station. Overpriced food but ok. It's overall very pretty but kinda of stuffy.
It's always a pleasure to dine at the Ivy on West Street.
There are a number of Ivy restaurants as part of the franchise now, but this one on west street is the original. It's a classic setting with a beautiful interior and a gorgeous bar that dominates the room. The stained glass windows create a lot of atmosphere. The menu centers around classic British cuisine. I started out with the steak tartar and followed it up with a beef Wellington (for two) and which is carved table side. Puddings are also classic ranging from baked Alaska to rumbabas. Excellent and attentive service. I always return to this place.
The waitress obviously discriminated Chinese people.
She didn't give any greetings or smile through out the service. She checked on other tables multiple times, but even when we want to call her, she deliberately avoided it. Very bad experience. Ruined a good day. Chinese people, don't go.

The Ivy is a must when in London! everything was stunning, the décor, the vibe, the energy. It's classy without being stuffy. We started with the truffle arancini (don't skip it!) and I had the blackened cod for my main, flaky, flavourful, and cooked to perfection. My friend got the plant based curry and couldn't stop raving. Everything was beautifully plated Service was top-tier; attentive, warm, and genuinely welcoming. You can tell the staff cares, The Ivy nails it: amazing food, gorgeous setting, Can't wait to go back!

I was disappointed compared to The Ivy's reputation, which appears to be overblown. Service was uneven, which means not that anyone was less than gracious, just that the resto seemed short-staffed. Food was good and tasty but not extraordinary. My mother's fish and chips was tasty but over-battered. My duck salad was pleasant but overdressed and too sweet for my taste. There are no walk-ins and no drinking at the bar apart from meals, which changes the atmosphere and maybe makes it less lively? Decor was very nice. There was a scary bouncer at the door, who seemed out of place.

Everyone had somewhat of a uniform on. Bartenders wore green vests. We ate at the bar which I almost always do, but had a hard time getting the bartenders attention. He seemed to be distracted by another set of people. The food was good. I had a rib eye steak cooked perfectly with a side of a mushroom sauce and steamed spinach with butter. Spinach a little salty but it was good. My friend had Shepards pie. It had both beef and lamb with a cheese on top. Nicely done. Cocktails good and wine was good and reasonably priced. Would go again.

I loved this place!! It was beautiful, classy, well designed and most importantly the food was great! It was all high quality and fresh. Our server was kind and super attentive! One thing to keep in mind about dining in Europe is that when you reserve your table, you have it for the entire evening. It's not like American where they are rushing you out so they can seat the next party! Dinner here is a classy experience, not the wham bam thank you ma'am nonsense that you get here in the states. If you are in London give this place a try! I promise you won't be sorry!
Rude manager and extremely loud music
Food was great, and person serving us was lovely. However if you want to be able to talk avoid this at all costs. At 7.55pm we asked the Manager to turn the music. He said 1) it was the vibe and it was going to get louder 2) it's controlled by head quarters so they can control the music. Firstly it's not a night club and certainly at 8pm during school holidays, families are still eating. Secondly do you really think customers will believe that you can not physically lower the volume and somehow its controlled by an omnipresent head quarters. Ivy asia you have a very patronising and rude manager here, please listen to your customers and improve the experience.

Disappointing
I have never had such appalling service in an Ivy restaurant before. The food was lovely as usual, but the service was terrible. On arrival (on time for our booking), we had to wait over 15 minutes in the corner of the entrance hall for our table to be ready. Then we were shown to the bar, where we were unable to find a seat, and had to wait another 10 minutes. When we were seated, it took ages to get someone’s attention to order a drink and again to order our food. Then one of our dishes had been forgotten and we had to speak to two different members of staff before we received it. Again with desert we had to ask for spoons twice before we got given them. It was also my son’s 18th bday and I had put that on the booking notes knowing that the Ivy normally make a point of wishing their guests a happy birthday, but not one member of staff said anything to him. The food is of an excellent standard, just very disappointing service and therefore not an enjoyable experience overall.
Tasty food, good cocktails and beautiful setting
First visit and wasn’t disappointed. We had the brunch menu which was excellent value for high class, tasty food and excellent service. The restaurant is lovely too. So pretty and plenty of photo opportunities-even the toilets are photogenic!! We tried the brunch recommended cocktails and the bubble tea cocktails. I was quite disappointed with the bubble tea one, made more difficult to drink with a paper straw. The food is 3 course-sharing starter and pudding. The starter was a bit of a let down, perhaps my ignorance but I thought a wonton was a crispy filled package-their wontons were more like nachos. Main and pudding delicious. Star lost for being asked if we wanted water and being brought a bottle of £5 table water. No need to be sneaky, I would never EVER pay for water in this way and both tables beside had free water. Make this clear please when you ask. I’ve told all my friends about here as well as telling them about the water charge if they do go!! I’d like to return to try the bigger menu!
Our favourite restaurant
Best experience yet !! Me and my friend have been coming here for the last 2 years to celebrate each of our birthdays. This was our 6th visit and the best one yet the waitress EMMA was amazing and so lovely and accommodating. Always had a smile on her face which makes a better experience. The food is always absolutely delicious.
Vibrant night out in the city
Really enjoyed our night out at the Ivy Asia St Pauls. Live DJ pumping out what is actually very decent house music, a view of the Cathedral (if you were lucky). Beautiful, oriental style decor with cherry blossom everywhere. We had the set menu and weren't disappointed. Looking forward to going back. Worth noting that on a Saturday night it is something between a restaurant and nightclub. The music is so loud you have to lip read. Vibrant energetic night out. Possibly not for the elderly or hard of hearing.

Very good venue
Surprisingly very busy considering its not an obvious location. Tables were close together making access a bit tricky. I had eaten in the Mayfair venue and maybe the menu changed as its very good now. We were pushed out of our table with little apology when our time was up. But I would return it was a great experience

While exploring Leicester Square and the market in London, we stumbled upon The Ivy. Upon entering, we realized it was a renowned London icon favored by locals for its cool atmosphere and good food. The dishes were tasty, and the staff were attentive. Without reservations, we opted to sit at the bar, which turned out to be a great choice. The numerous bartenders frequently checked in to see if we needed anything. They offer craft cocktails, although the selection is somewhat limited. We sampled a few, finding them average but enjoyable. The dining room features classic decor and is somewhat dark, creating a great ambiance. The food is a bit above average, with good taste and presentation. Given London's high culinary standards, The Ivy holds its own as a great spot for anyone strolling through the city, offering good ambiance, friendly staff, and reasonable prices.
Disappointing Experience
I would not recommend booking here for a birthday celebration. No effort to recognise a milestone birthday in addition The Ivy Asia is NOT for children. The service levels fluctuated according to the staff. Plenty of "jacketed" managers floating but seriously their customer service skills in hospitality were pretty much useless - no rapport, in all honesty they need a good "kick us their backsides" such a shame as this place could be so so much better. Food OK not brilliant but mass produced. Getting a bill was like finding a needle in a haystack - ask 4 times and wait and wait and wait. Would I run back - probably NOT, is there better especially in Brighton YES definitely. Would I pay £59.00 service charge NO way. Come on Ivy Asia Brighton you can definitely do better than this.............

Delicious & perfect place to hang out
Last year around this time (March 2023), I visited this place for the first time and returned during the summer (August 2023) to explore more of their dishes. I felt compelled to share my feedback as both visits were truly enjoyable. We indulged in a variety of small dishes, and each one exceeded our expectations. Every dish was unique and flavorful, with every bite offering a perfect balance of taste and excellent presentation. The atmosphere was captivating, especially with its prime location just in front of St. Paul's Cathedral. Although there are cheaper dining options available around London; the experience at Ivy Asia St. Paul is incomparable. Please be mindful that we have never had a bad experience here, unlike others, so we consider ourselves very fortunate.
Amazing Food & Poor Service
We visited the Ivy Asia restaurant at St Paul’s for a special anniversary. We were really excited to go because we had seen lots of people visit and the photos of the food and restaurant looked amazing. We arrived around 30 minutes before our booking, hoping to have a drink at the bar prior to our meal. When we visited reception to check in, we were told that we couldn’t go up to the bar because it was too busy and that we would have to wait in a foyer area with no seats. We waited until the time of our booking and didn’t get called, another 20 minutes later and we finally got called up. When we got taken upstairs, we were then put at the bar for another 15 minutes. So don’t take your time of your booking as the time you will be seated for dinner and certainly don’t visit if you are limited on time! The food itself was very good, we had a delicious sushi platter with cocktails. The food did kind of make up for the poor service, but should still not be that bad given the price of the meal and service charge.
Fab place for a celebration!
We went to THE IVY ASIA to celebrate a couple of things, A retirement, a 60th Birthday and an Engagement. We thought it was a the perfect place for a celebration. Upon arrival there was a bit of an error, 2 of our party were already upstairs, but they wouldn't let us up there for another 20 minutes, a very odd start to the night. We booked a month in advance and included the occasions in the booking, so waiting 20 minutes for the table wasn't really ideal and hopefully just a mistake. Nevertheless when we were seated it was all fabulous and we were on such a great table with a view of St Pauls! We ordered some sushi, beef, and rice to share and the majority of us ordered the Black miso cod, an absolute star of the show! We actually received 8 Shots of tequila and a dessert platter for the error at the beginning, which was greatly appreciated.
Mother’s Day at the Ivy Asia
My daughters booked for Mother’s Day afternoon tea as a treat. We arrived just before 1.30pm as table was booked for 1.30pm, the greeting from the staff in the waiting area was pretty non existent, and the cloakroom staff wasn’t any better. Along with some other people we was left standing around as there wasn’t any type of seating in this area, after 20mins I asked if we could sit at the bar, the staff member looked shocked and worried about my request but rang upstairs and we was granted access. The greeting at the bar was much more pleasant. A few minutes later we was shown to our table which was nicely situated, my daughters explained they’d booked the afternoon tea, we was promptly told afternoon tea started at 3pm, there had been a mix up on the timings when booked. We asked if we could wait till 3pm, the response was very sharp, we was told no and handed the menus. Food was ordered and it was all delicious as were the puddings so cannot complain at all about the food and presentation however the service was shocking and not worth nearly £20 in service charge. Ivy Asia needs to work very hard on getting their front of house in order as the greeting of guests is very below par, make a seating area, allow guests to have a drink at the bar whilst waiting, surely people spending is a no brainer, train staff to be friendly, warm and attentive, after all the paying customers are bringing business to the restaurant which in turn pays their wages. I would add this is my second visit and again the surroundings and food amazing, service shockingly disappointing.
Dissapointed
We went for dinner at the Ivy Asia in St.Pauls on Saturday Night as a wedding gift from my work, coincidentally it was also my wife's birthday so we were having a double celebration and really looking forward to our night out at the IVY. Unfortunately we were thoroughly disappointed with the evening. Our table was not ready when we got to the restaurant so had a drink at the bar before waiting to be seated. When we finally got to the table we barely looked at the menu when the waiter requested to take our order. He mentioned that we should have either six starters to share or two starters each and a main dish as this is what is normally ordered. We ordered two starters each and a main along with some edamame bean's as a pre starter and wontons, the starters arrived about 3 minutes after this and whilst we were eating the appetisers which was fine. We asked the waiter to delay the mains slightly as we were still eating the starters and the mains arrived about two minutes after that. By the time we finished the starters our mains were cold and as I had ordered the Rib Eye Steak it was then overcooked as well as kept on cooking, we complained to the waiter who notified us that the food comes out as soon as its ready and its not his fault. All of the food was similar and very sweet and we felt the entire meal was rushed and not relaxing. We asked to speak to the manager whose name was Bogdan who again came to the table and was incredibly rude and was rushing us to finish our meal as they had another sitting who were waiting downstairs. We asked to see the desert and drinks menu and I ordered a coffee but the bill arrived before we could even look at the desert menu. We then asked to see the general manager who again came to the table and notified us that the restaurant is a machine and people were waiting downstairs for our table. We explained that it is very difficult to enjoy a meal or eat that much recommended food in the time allocated (1hr.45min) sitting especially since our table was delayed on entry. There were no apologies, instead a bill came to £265.00 for our horrendous meal. My wife had met three ladies in the toilet who all had the same experience and we found the whole experience quite rushed and very unpleasant.

Disappointing Experience - St Pauls
Disappointing experience from the start. arrived 10 mins early thinking we would have a cheeky drink at the Bar. Instead we were kept waiting in the downstairs lobby, and told our table wasnt ready & there's no space at the Bar. 20 minutes later we went upstairs to the restaurant, walked past the bar (which by the way was not full) to our table, by the window. Staff were attentive in taking our food & drinks order and explaining the menu. Food was cold & disappointing. We finished our meal and decided to have a quick drink at the Bar.... overall very disappointing experience. We made our reservation a few weeks ago to celebrate a special date and had been looking forward to having a great dining experience. Save your money and try a different location instead.

We went here expecting your normal high tea, and we were blown away by the service and ambiance. We were well taken care of the whole way. The bottomless champagne stayed bottomless. The food was amazing. We dream of this every now and then. The food was plenty. Each of us got our own stack, as opposed to some places where one stack is for two. We were positively stuffed. The sandwiches had yummy fillings and the deserts were fresh. The smoothie was the favorite.

However, a noteworthy discrepancy arose in our dining experience concerning the waiter. Following a perusal of the online menu and inquiries with other staff members regarding the availability of sticky toffee pudding, our waiter disavowed its presence, contradicting the explicit mention on the menu. Despite attributing this to a recent menu alteration, our scrutiny revealed a historical consistency in the dish's inclusion over the years. This situation was particularly disheartening, as it transpired during a visit with my younger sister, who has harbored a longstanding fondness for the aforementioned dessert. Our overall dining satisfaction was marred by this unfortunate discrepancy.

The service is perfect- the atmosphere is top-notch! We can't stop thinking about the amazing meals that we had - highly recommend the arachini truffle balls, and the chocolate bomb!
Had a lovely late lunch here with my cousin.
My first full day in the city. I was actually planning on having a meal on the other side of town, but by the time my cousin met me I had a hankering for some fried food so we walked to this vicinity. We were seated right away by a friendly hostess. They placed us inside, but got moved to the last table before the outside area as we wanted an outside table. It was a nice compromise. I'd say this was the most local meal I had while I was in town. Nice meal and the service was amazing. We were so well taken care of.

We had spent the day touring London and this was our final stop. Tip-#1 make a reservation as the place fills up quickly at night and the wait can Be lengthy The appetiser was the buffalo mozzarella salad. Just an amazing starter. My main was the Fish n Chips. A decent portion of fish. The chips were an excellent side. I did find the mushy peas - done more as a puree a tad bland and it really did not add to the meal. I prefer my peas with an English meat pie. Tip #2 the Fish & Chips do not come with ketchup. Malt vinegar, lemon half and tartar sauce. If you feel the need for anything more just ask. Dessert was the Chocolate Bombe. The presentation was very nice. A scoop of ice cream with a honey comb and spun toffee centre with a thin chocolate shell. Our server then poured hot butterscotch over the shell which melted. Tip #e3 Perfect end to the meal and for sharing.

The Ivy -- the original -- is a truly wonderful experience with great cocktails and good food. The small room has not changed in decades but it is always full and lively. The service is always friendly and welcoming. An old favorite for me.
