The Tailor's Son San Francisco Reviews from The Last Year
I love this place, it never disappoints.
I'm not a pasta expert but I feel pretty certain that this pasta is handmade and the ambiance is light, fun and welcoming. Not outrageously priced and a good time is guaranteed for all. Service is friendly and efficient. I should have taken a picture of my pasta, but I devoured it

We've been here a couple of times already and every time it's been a fantastic experience. The food is delicious, we've been meaning to try other dishes but we always end up going for the carbonara. The service is always amicable and efficient. They have outdoor seating so we've been able to take our dogs (non service dogs) no problem. Using public transport to get here is probably the best and easiest option. Finding parking around this area is sometimes tricky, especially during weekends but if you are willing to walk a little (5-10 minutes) theres plenty of parking options around.

We went to the Tailors Son last night as a large party of 12. Owen could not have been sweeter about accommodating our large party, not rushing us through our meal, and providing us with a fun and lively atmosphere for our special reunion dinner!!! The drinks were well made, the food was delicious, and what a fun spot for a group to share and taste so many wonderful Italian plates! Thank you for a memorable evening tailors son!!!

We had a great meal here, in comfortable & friendly surroundings. Brought my two teenagers and they loved it.
First time here.
Came for brunch. I am covid conscious so only sit outside at places and wanted to eat here because they have nice outdoor dining. Food is also good and fresh and the omelette was generous portions. However, no one answers the phone even during business hours. I know they do reservations through the website but not all places do outside reservations through the app, so I wanted to speak to a human. No answer after trying a few times so I took my chances and went over. Was able to put my name in for the waitlist and was told "15-20 minutes" but that they'll text me. No problem. I go off window shopping and then the minutes tick by. It gets close to an hour and I am starving so I head back. There's multiple open tables and no one texted me. I finished my whole meal and no one texted me. Also I noticed that the waiter almost brought my food to a different table. I thought it was theirs at first because he stood there talking to them for a moment while they admired my food while I was sitting there hungry. So hopefully will see this and maybe check to make sure that y'all are fully staffed?

stopped by just for drinks which I know this place is not the only thing it's known for but it's a super cute spot on the fillmore. the interior is well decorated and has a great ambience as well. i got a cocktail which had matcha foam on it trying to get a different flavor profile but ended up with pretty much the same thing as I normally get. they let us stay after they closed which was really nice and I think the food would have probably hit as well, just didnt get any
Pasta is my comfort food, so I have been going to this
Pasta is my comfort food, so I have been going to this place for the past 2 years (since its close to my house). Last night, as we were seated for dinner, I noticed a fairly large food stain on my plate. I asked the waiter if he can swap my plate for a clean one. He asked me where the stain is, and after I pointed it out he replied with "oh yeah that is just the aura of our plates". He then went to the side table by the kitchen and swapped my plate for an equally dirty plate, but at that point I decided that this is not with ruining dinner over and just did not eat from the plate. But here is where it really gets better. I then saw a waiter TAKE MY DIRTY PLATE I HANDED HIM AND BRING IT TO ANOTHER GUEST. That is just gross. Add this to the fact that the quality of food has been slowly and steadily declining over the past year or so. Last night my husband and I couldn't finish our pasta - the dish we used to both look forward to so much. The bottom line: life is too short for shitty pasta and SF has so many other wonderful Italian places. This is no longer one of them.
Fantastic food.
Great wine list featuring many many interesting Italian wines by the glass. I plan to work my way through them while sampling the interesting starters. The constantly changing risotto selections (note the plural) are worth the journey all on their own.

Make a reservation! My group of four got lucky for an early dinner time walk-in, just having drinks and appetizers. We were only allowed an hour though, so we had to hustle. Nonetheless, super delicious food, wine, and good vibes inside. We shared a bottle of red wine, and had several appetizers including the pâté bruschetta, meatballs, little gem salad, and focaccia. The bruschetta was incredible, and their house meatballs were also great. Would definitely recommend. Would also come back after a day of shopping to have dinner. But again, making a reso is wise since this place is quite busy!

This is my new Sunday brunch spot primarily because of Colin and the sundress chic cocktail. Colin sat us in the back booth away from the busy crowd at the rear of the restaurant. He made solid recommendations about the food, cocktails and he was just charming and cute on top of that. He comped us coffee because the wait was a little longer than usual though I didn't notice it. The sundress chic was refreshingly tart and sweet and went down very smoothly. The polenta with the pork ragu and poached egg was an excellent brunch choice though that poached egg was overdone and I would have preferred it to be more runny. Not taking off a star because everything else was perfect. A little hard to find parking so plan on a little extra time for that.
