The West Hollywood EDITION Reviews from The Last Year
Beautifully designed hotel; Could improve a little on hotel guest communication and level of service.
Overall, the Edition Hotel was pretty nice. My boyfriend and I travel often and particularly seek out "Editions." So far, we have stayed at the one here, in Barcelona, Reykjavik, Rome, and NYC (both locations). The restaurant (Ardor) has a cool vibe and had some good dishes, and I loved that they had a pool table in the lobby -- it kept things lively. Having said that, this location is the only one that has left a bit of a salty taste in my mouth, mostly due to communication issues. I stayed at the WEHO Edition for a total of 10 days in February. The room was wonderful and housekeeping always did a superb job. The negative was when I sent in a brand new designer scarf to their dry cleaning service. I carefully wrote on the form that it was designer + newly purchased in the days prior, and noted the small area that I was hopeful could be cleaned (a red mark -- lip gloss, I assumed). Their form claims that there is an upcharge for *designer* items - - understandable... because they have to take extra gentle care with it. When the scarf was returned to me, it had noticeable holes in the corners, and they had completely ironed out the seams of the outside edges of the scarf (Hermes scarf/designer scarves have hand rolled seams - you never "iron" out the seams or it ruins them/can never be reversed). The holes were clearly due to pins, i.e., they did not treat my item with the proper upmost care (as the bill at the end reflected). I brought this up to the head of housekeeping and felt immediately dismissed as he said the dry cleaner claimed it was fine. Eventually the hotel offered to file a claim/have me send pics, etc. I didn't hear anything at all for 13 days... so I reached out to them and received a standard message from one of Marriotts insurance adjusters, Brenton, that he'd be helping me. Again, didn't hear anything further for 3 weeks, so I had to reach back out again on my own. I got a message back this morning stating that they won't take responsibility. Hotel Edition: I'm surprised by ya'll. Everyone else: the hotel is beautiful, but even though it's in WEHO and they boast all about the celebrities and parties they host + high levels of service + attention to detail... if you're traveling with beautiful pieces of clothing and have an "oops" that requires dry cleaning.. find one on your own accord and don't assume this hotel has your support.
Not coming back
We first stayed here when it had recently opened. While it's not really my style - I prefer quirky boutique hotels - I appreciated the minimalist design, spacious rooms, rooftop pool and the little coffee shop area that offered free coffee, tea and Danish in the mornings. Fast forward to now and the place is not aging well. The carpets in the hallway are dirty and smell bad. The sheets have holes. The room thermostat doesn't work and on a chilly spring night you freeze - no extra blanket in the closet. The front desk staff are extremely courteous and debonair, but the cleaning staff is of a different caliber. They take away your used coffee cups and don't replace them, so after Day Two you can't use the in-room nespresso machine anymore. You call the front desk, they assure you that they are sending replacements up "right away" - as of this writing, that was 25 minutes ago. They are more adept at squeezing the guests: 70 dollars a day for parking? And that free coffee and Danish - that's been canceled. This will be our last stay here.
Will not go back
The hotel lobby was pretty, and room okay but very minimalist. Water at this hotel was very hard - not universally true in LA hotels - so washing left one feeling slimy rather than clean. There were no towel bars whatsoever, ridiculous in a state where water conservation is at a premium. Oddly, many of the electrical sockets did not hold plugs, so that electronics did not stay plugged in. There was not enough lighting in the room unless the overheads were on. To the contrary, there were no dimmers on the bathroom lighting, so night time visits were either in full light or darkness. An espresso machine was provided but with very tiny pods so that only a few sips of coffee could be had at a time. There is an excellent restaurant but it’s quite pricey. When we checked in, there was only one staffer at the desk though there was a line.
Nice Property, Poor Service
I have stayed here close to 10 times, if not more, since opening. What I've noticed is a depressing downslide in service. The staff at the upstairs restaurant, in particular, is really bad - not only are they often rude, but on multiple occasions I had to interrupt them talking about memes and TikToks to just get their attention to do their jobs. Contrasted with the roof pool staff, who are attentive and friendly, it's night and day. The main desk downstairs seems to always be understaffed. The rooms are fine, but not particularly luxurious - and the property and brand are quickly eroding in terms of value. They could differentiate with 5 Star service, but instead seem to hire cool young people who don't want to work or haven't been trained properly. Is it worth the price? Not really. Food's not great, rooms are starkly minimal and location has many alternatives nearby. I like the Edition brand and would love to see the WeHo hotel stand up to my experiences in NYC and London, but right now it simply doesn't.
Sterile, Bland & Boring
If I was looking for a hotel as sterile looking and feeling like the Edition, I would rather check into a hospital. While this hotel offers many facilities expected in the 5 star hotel, the hotel has very little character. Rooms are smaller than most, there is no hotel restaurants except for the rooftop bar that offers limited choices for meals. The pool is probably the best city hotel pool in LA but otherwise other hotels offer a much warmer feeling.
Hotel Full of Thieves
I strongly discourage anyone from choosing this property. Despite being a Marriott ambassador for a decade, I was falsely accused of $500 in minibar charges. Despite providing a check-in video, the hotel persists in claiming usage. The district manager failed to respond. This hotel has dishonest staff, and I've come across reviews of stolen valuables from guest rooms and the spa. My usual choice, the SLS in Beverly Hills, has never presented such issues.
Can’t wait to return
Always love staying here. Love the beautiful views and the friendly staff. I want to give a shout out to the delightful front desk agent Jessica who made me feel so welcome at the start of my birthday weekend. Thank you so much Jessica! Already looking forward to our next visit.

The hotel itself was decent and the service was generally good. There aren't a lot of good restaurants within walking distance of this hotel, but thankfully the onsite restaurant was decent too and I appreciated that they had different menu options for breakfast, brunch, and dunner (they close briefly in between). There is no obvious signage for the hotel itself, so it is a bit difficult to find, and the valet situation is a bit of a mess (the employees were clearly doing their best, the issue is more with the way the building is laid out.) We wanted to try the rooftop bar but it was closed for a private event the first night we were there, and we didn't make it back in time before they closed on the second night. The Gym is nice, well stocked and even had a peloton. There was a tray of dirty food outside our door when we checked in that stayed there all night . The thing I was most disappointed in was the fact that I paid extra for a room with a balcony and they really sold me on how my room was "away" from the noise only to discover the most horrendous dilapidated boarded up houses and parking lot view on arrival. Also it was certainly not away from the noise as people below seemed to be yelling all hours of the night in said parking lot.
A Gem on Sunset Boulevard
The West Hollywood Edition on Sunset boulevard is very conveniently located. The Rooftop Bar has a spectacular view of LA. Ardor - the restaurant - has a well curated menu, though with limited vegetarian options. We had a comfortable stay this property. The one thing that rankled was that they charged $60 a day for parking from guests staying at the hotel. Parking for residents should be complementary
Getting It Right!
A terrific hotel across the gamut -- design, service, kindness, coolness. Noah on the roof is terrific. Daniel, Jackson, and Kailin at the front desk are amazing. Ardor restaurant is sublime -- Rubin at the helm in the front, Miranda as The Server To End All Servers! A+++
An Outstanding Experience
The West Hollywood Edition is an absolutely fabulous place to stay. It's a beautiful hotel with outstanding service. Every one of the staff members is professional and friendly and it's clear they want you to have best experience. The rooftop both for breakfast and the bar is stunning.
I was charged $8.
00 for a soda water w/ lime. As someone who has worked in the restaurant industry for years, this is insane. My lychee martini was $35.00 and was served in a wine glass. I loved the vibes, hated the ambiance. Will probably go back because of the vibe, but will not be paying for another drink there.

My favorite hotel to stay during traveling! I've stayed at the Edition in NYC and I fell in love with the decor, guest rooms and the upscale service. We had a staycation in LA which was outstanding! The rooms are so beautiful and comfortable. We had breathtaking penthouse views of the city. Truly a remarkable stay. The poolside was also gorgeous, In addition to the delicious meals.

Meh...Snooty?! Weird vibes...likes dogs so I will give 2 Jesus more words okay umm they don't deliver my door dash in a timely manner
I wouldn't stay here again.
For a 5 star hotel I was expecting a LOT more style and vibe for the price paid. Don't get me wrong it's a clean, nice hotel. It also has a great rooftop bar where the views speak for themselves. But as far as staying for the night, it was definitely underwhelming. The rooms are so plain and boring. A lot bit tooooo modern and minimal. Even the halls and lobby. Not artwork or color. I get that's sorta the style now, but when you stay off the sunset strip I think you expect some sort of wow factor. We had an upgraded room and it had a patio with a shabby planter box of rosemary and a horrendous, depressing view of a random old run down house, parking lot and big blank wall. This place is just so bland. It was quiet though so that was nice. Don't stay here if you're expecting a WOW factor, there are plenty if other hotels nearby to choose from for that.

After being charged for drinks I didn't order and being yelled at by the bartender in the picture below. I asked to speak to Ryan Hook the MOD thinking he would look into the situation. Especially after explaining to him his bartender is LITERALLY YELLING at me. And just to clarify I dont have an issue whatsoever paying for my tab. I do have an issue with being charged for something I didn't order. Then being yelled at publicly Not only did he gaslight me but he was completely dismissive and condescending. For someone who's title is "hospitality manager" he seems to be lacking the proper ethics and skillset to be in that position. I will also be emailing this to your corporate team to look into the service/communication skills there employees are provided. This is a luxury hotel and one would expect there staff to act like it.
beautiful, clean modern hotel in the very heart of
beautiful, clean modern hotel in the very heart of everything Hollywood. staff unbelievably attentive considering local area and rooms very clean and spacious. the valet parking is the best I've encountered with Bernard going above and beyond to take care of beyond the expectation request we presented him with. he's a one of a kind. not cheap but worth the bucks!
The hotel and staff were very friendly and nice.
The hallways left much to be desired, making you feel like you were in a hospital walking to your room. The room was nice and simple, but decoration was one random picture in an odd place. Would stay here again, but would not consider it a 5 star hotel.
We recently stayed at the modern and luxurious West
We recently stayed at the modern and luxurious West Hollywood EDITION as a pre wedding staycation. Jackson at reception was especially amazing and assisted us with all our needs. He even got us set up with a special table on the rooftop bar! We felt like true VIPs! We absolutely loved our suite and the amenities on property are great. We will definitely return in the future.

Watching the sunset from your room with impeccable views or on the rooftop pool is a must. Definitely one of the best pools in LA.

Great Service - amazing dinner!!
Read about the site in NYT and bought a reservation at Mother Wolf in LA 2 days later. Worked great and the food was amazing!!!
Worked perfectly!
Got the reservation (that I couldn't get anywhere else) and was able to entertain a group of friends at the infamous Bern's Steakhouse.
Got into Nobu Malibu
Wonderful! My parents are visiting and we have wanted to go to Nobu Malibu for years. I tried getting a reservation myself but it was next to impossible. So glad I was able to buy a reservation on appointment trader for a decent price!
Very easy
Was very hesitant going into this experience but am glad to say that it worked out very well ! will definitely use appointment trader in the future
Fabulous Lunch
I was veeeeeerry skeptical that this would work, particularly at a restaurant as hard to get into as Nobu Malibu, and it was perfect! We had lunch outside on the patio and it was fabulous!
Great reviewer team
Just wanted to take a second to shout out the reviewer team. Even though they probably review hundreds of listings and bids a day, they still take the time to leave great comments and respond relatively quickly. Thanks!
Incredible
I got a reservation to Don Angie, which I've been trying to book for weeks! I am very happy with this service.
Best platform out there!
Super simple, easy, and fast to secure reservations for hard-to-get restaurants and locations!
This app is life changing
This app has opened my world up to so many wonderful new experiences I would never have the chance to have without access to this awesome app! 10/10!
Worked perfectly
Was a little nervous at first but was pleased to see that the booking went through flawlessly.
Highly recommended.
Success on Short Notice
Was able to snag an indoor table at Don Angie through an absolutely seamless worry-free process.
Worked perfectly, thank you!
This is a crazy holiday season in NYC and I was very pleasantly surprised to see that AppointmentTrader works! Will be using again!
Worked flawlessly!
Worked so well! I was a bit nervous, but everything went very smoothly. purchased the reservation, and got into the restaurant seamlessly.
Love this app!
So glad I came across this app :)
Quick table in Miami
I didn’t have my hopes high as it was a party of 4. In 24 hours I had a carbone reservation available! I was very happy as my family really wanted to come here
Prime time, great meal
So easy and had a prime time which I can never seem to get on normal res apps. So worth it
Got impossible NYC res
instead of waiting weeks I got my 4 charles reservation instantly
Worked perfectly to get into Carbone. So delighted
perfect
Worked well, got me into a restaurant with no availability
I was skeptical, and I still don't really know how they managed to find this hard-to-find reservation, but it was a win-win from my point of view, and I'll use this service again.
Last minute reservation for Delilah Las Vegas
Got a last minute reservation, dinner for 2 at Delilah Las Vegas: super impressed! The process was simple, transaction seamless. We had an amazing time! Couldn’t be happier! 😍
It works!
Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!
Money transfer
As a seller, I like the fact i have the ability now to transfer money out of my AT account and into a bank account. Makes getting the money much easier then the process before.
Love this app
Got to go to places otherwise unreachable
Easy Access
Very easy to get into one of the hardest restaurants to reserve in New York.

I will give you 50% of ALL of my PROFITS if you teach me how to make profits?
LOL. Thank you The New Yorker.
Appointment
Transferring reservations is not supported in AT. Why not just use the name in the AT screenshot?
Buyers interested in Bern's Steakhouse: PLEASE READ
Same goes for 4 Charles and I Sodi
Prepaid Reservation Fee
Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
Congrats on 3 mil
🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🧨🧨🧨 now on to 30 mill!
Need to cancel a bid, not getting a response… how do I do it?
Click on "Take off the Market Option" in your portfolio
Working on your bid?
Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.
Process after bid is accepted.
Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from?
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered?
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
