Urban Putt San Francisco Reviews from The Last Year
Urban Putt exceeded my expectations as a mini golf course!
Urban Putt exceeded my expectations as a mini golf course! I only did a little research but saw it had drinks, looked colorful, and looked like an excellent date spot! Cocktails and mini golf, I'm IN! We arrived right when it opened at 4 PM, and it was packed already; we waited in the car and found parking a block away. When arriving, you buy your ticket, put the ball coin in the machine, and pick the ball color of your choice. You also get your club at the end of the hall and walk back to the course, where there's a bar near the entrance. The whole course is interactive and creative! You hit the ball into the course and would not know where the ball was going to end up. The ball would get carried up a machine and swirl down or down a small mountain; there were so many surprises. My favorite was Hole #9, the Dia De Los Muertos-themed hole; it was creative going down the obstacles on the shelves. Overall, it took us about an hour to finish all the courses! We finished the night with Brussels sprouts and grilled buffalo wings, which had a smoky taste from being grilled (definitely a change). The only thing I didn't like was the families or kids taking up so much time on the course or messing around. I felt rushed the whole time!

Ok but why was that so fun! To be completely transparent, it's my first golfing experience, but my friend who has been to several golf courses says that this is by far her favorite spot because of how interactive the holes are. I had a great time. Would definitely recommend :)

I am devastated to hear Urban Putt has been bought out and is closing down in San Francisco in favor of focusing of their new San Jose location. I've only been here once but was brought on a date by my partner grew up locally & adored this space. Growing up in the suburbs, I am not a big fan of mini-golfing especially as a date (it can really be so AWKWARD, LAME, and BORING), but Urban Putt was an AMAZING experience. I was in a transition period trying to move to San Francisco after graduating college in East Bay and Urban Putt made me realize that I really didn't know any history about San Francisco specifically. The themes of the first holes were very educational and all the themes were very interactive and fun! We went on a weekday evening and had to come back 30-60 minutes later because of the amount of people inside. It was a very crowded space with the holes being very close to each other. It was very difficult to move around and play properly, but my partner and I skipped around to any available hole after seeing all the groups do the same ahead of us. We were just there is be in the space and have a good time so the gameplay didn't really bother us. We took some time and managed to play all the holes in less than an hour. Would definitely recommend sticking as small groups of 3-5 and not bringing a big group to play together. Drinks were a little pricier than expected especially after paying to play but personally being able to bring a drink and snacks around the course helped me be less overwhelmed with everything happening in the space. Parking was also a little rough in the Mission and definitely took much longer than expected. Absolutely hate to see another unique space close down in San Francisco, but writing this review as a love letter to the many fun memories made here!
Super cute mini golf place!! By far the coolest mini golf
Super cute mini golf place!! By far the coolest mini golf place I've ever been to -- they have so many unique courses that use a variety of interesting technologies. There's even a digital simulation course. Each course is themed differently which keeps it interesting! The whole place has really cool contraptions, lighting, and decor. I was honestly amazed at the creativity and engineering that went into this whole place, down to the last bit when the machine auto sorts your golf ball by color. The course itself doesn't take too long -- you'll probably spend an hour to an hour and a half max here if you do the course once. The drinks here are expensive and strong (at least the moscow mule I got was soo strong) and it's a bit annoying having to carry your drink between each course and set it down on a new table every time, so honestly wouldn't recommend getting a drink here if you can help it. We went after dinner around 8:30-9 and it wasn't too crowded but we still ended up bumping into the people playing before/after us a few times. They ask have a fortune telling machine and you can get your fortune printed out on a ticket for like a quarter. Such a fun place for a date! Definitely worth the trip :)
By far one of my fave places of things to do in the city.
Sad to say they will be leaving SF by the end of the year but they do have a location in San Jose. Such a fun spot for all ages. Take note that they allow all ages til 8pm and from then no underage kiddos. $14 /pp for about 13holes I think. Very well thought out and very electric themes. We had a party of 10 and we sure all had fun. drinks and food here are also very good. Surprised of their Brussels sprouts and the house wings to be very tasty. Highly recommend

Great date spot with a fun ambiance.
The holes here are actually interesting, and the vibes are always great. Workers are easygoing and fun to talk to, bringing the entire space a fun and casual energy. I've had several dates here, and it has always been a good time, talking to other couples in line, getting playfully competitive with others, etc. Would recommend to others for a cute date night!

Had a blast here! My boyfriend, cousin, and I got off the BART and walked the couple blocks over here. It was fast and easy. We arrived right before they opened on a Sunday and waited patiently. We were first customers of the day! The nice employees and owner (?) explained how it works. You buy tokens ($15 each) to use in the ball machines like a quarter. You put the token in to your desired color and get your ball. There's mini golf clubs in the back of the hallway that are organized by color, where each color is given for a recommended height. There's also a cool Photo Booth, that's good quality and definitely worth the $8. There was a total of 14 holes. They were all so fun and unique, I couldn't choose a favorite. The very last one is easy but has a really cool "finale"! Drinks were good as well. There's a place to chill upstairs so you're not in the thick of it. It did get busier after we started and we let a few people in front of us (because I suck and was taking a while). Still, wasn't too crowded and we had a lot of fun! Such a good find, would definitely come back! :-)
I enjoyed my time at urban putt so much! Indoor mini golf
I enjoyed my time at urban putt so much! Indoor mini golf with drinks on the side. The courses were fun and different than the usual mini golf, because they included interesting games in the course as well. $10 per person so it won't break the bank for a nice date night. We came on a Sunday around 5pm and there wasn't a long line to get in or get drinks. Weekdays from 4-6pm they have happy hour so it's $2 off drinks and mini golf. Such a good steal.

I love this place, I've been more than a few times and it's a ton of fun. The themes and overall design is really impressive. There can be a line to get started on weekends but it's worth the wait. They gave my friend a free game for her birthday a few years ago (not sure if that's an official promotion anymore). One little annoyance: they stop giving balls out an hour before they close. It's on the posted hours next to the door but isn't reflected here so I showed up exactly an hour before closing time and wasn't able to play. It totally makes sense and the guy was nice about it but I was bummed.
