Stunning
Excellent time spent with family, on the occasion of a wedding meal. the vegetarian menu was stunning: both delicate and delicious. The food and wine pairings delighted our taste buds. Thank you for this delicious moment, we will keep very good memories of it. The private room is ideal for getting together as a family, the staff is impeccable and the chef was able to surprise us with unexpected flavors and ingredients.

Sumptuous gastronomy at William Frachot, 2 stars well deserved in a hotel with charm and heart, for me the best address to sleep in Dijon. The whole Chapeau Rouge is therefore extraordinary. From appetizers to sweet treats, it's a festival of beauty to the eyes (40% of the gastronomic pleasure) and of course to the palate (60% of the pleasure), with marriages of products and flavors, which can be ( and must) appreciate globally or detail flavor by flavor in the mouth. A grandiose tasting every time. The dishes draw on traditional Burgundian cuisine (oeuf meurette obviously) but also heavily on the creativity and 2* innovation of the Chef: for example, endive which is unfolded petal by petal to discover its revisited heart, the “new Burgundy snails” of great beauty and sweetness, decorated with the “5*” shell of a beautiful “well-bred” snail. Or the morel, brilliant in its sweetness and depth of flavor. I will not mention all 8 dishes from the large menu, I will let you dream on a number of photos. Sweet and colorful desserts, like saffron. The flavor combinations involve original products, such as celery which appears a little powerful twice or this saffron interpreted by the Chef. We recognize a 2* Chef and therefore a Haute Gastronomy house by these details, these creations, these innovations. Perfect welcome and service, well styled in a beautiful modern dining room with relaxing tones, superb cellar book, with beautiful bottles to be taken gently at the same time, everything you need to spend a huge gastronomic moment, ultimately at a price sweet, well deserved. William Frachot is the absolute must in Dijon, number 1, come, taste, you will be delighted. And if you're not from Dijon, sleep there, great too.

I expected better
Having not yet eaten in this restaurant, I went there on a Thursday lunchtime, a waiting staff of 5 people received me, only 4 tables for this lunch. Each dish was very well prepared and prepared and was the subject of a beautiful presentation by the dining team. In the end, the dishes were all good but there was no great originality on offer. Disappointment with the red wine, a bottle of Charms Chambertin 2015 from Domaine Duroché to order. The Sommelier tasted it first, then at first I didn't find it very crazy and after tasting it, I was more and more disappointed, but when speaking to the sommelier he assured me that it was normal. After the meal I went to join several wine enthusiasts who assured me that this bottle had a defect. When talking with them they told me that it's a shame that the sommelier hasn't changed and I myself am disappointed.

We had a fabulous stay at Chapeau Rouge. The hotel is perfectly maintained, the room (bedding + bathroom) is top notch. (plus attention) The restaurant is magical, the dishes all have a story, the flavors are incredible. We were advised on the wine, it was perfectly well selected. The treatments are absolutely relaxing. The breakfast is amazing. All the staff are pleasant, smiling, impeccable. Everything is perfect in this establishment. For all sane people, nothing can tarnish this picture.
Taste, you are filmed: a culinary experience under (high) surveillance
Thursday, October 19, I invited my best friend to dinner at the Hostellerie du Chapeau Rouge for her birthday. But this culinary experience - which I imagined would be unforgettable for mainly gastronomic reasons - ultimately turned out to be disastrous when we noticed the presence of a video surveillance camera in the restaurant room. Questioning a service staff in order to obtain explanations on the meaning of the presence of such an “object” in such a “place” (double-starred gastronomy summit), a first explanation was provided to us: the camera serves the chef to monitor the service so that customers are not waiting. It is therefore a “simple tool” intended to “streamline” the service, which “does not film faces but only dishes”. Obviously, the ten or so servers working in the room are not enough to guarantee customers quality service and Mr. Frachot has spectacular technological tools that know how to sort and sort between faces and dishes. This justification particularly disturbed us on the one hand because we felt monitored in a moment that we considered "intimate" and on the other hand because this surveillance system questioned us about the work of the staff, also placed under this same surveillance (but without a doubt, the camera must also know how to sort between service staff and other dishes). Having made my friend experience a very unpleasant moment, I asked, the next day and after having informed myself about the legal nature of this surveillance, that we be reimbursed to the extent that if I had been informed of the presence camera I would not have chosen this restaurant. Furious, Monsieur Frachot called me to tell me that a sign indicated the presence of such equipment at the entrance to the restaurant. This panel does indeed exist but, on the one hand, it absolutely does not meet legal standards and, on the other hand, it is located in such a way that it is (unfortunately) hidden by the opening of the doors. When I took the liberty of pointing this out to Mr. Frachot, he frankly got angry and cited reasons that were very different from those used by his staff the day before, namely the protection of property and people within his establishment ( a practice that he considers “common” in such establishments). It is worth remembering here that in order to validate any reservation in this restaurant, you must provide your bank imprint (in the event of a last minute cancellation, the sum of 100 euros is then debited). The establishment therefore seems relatively unlikely to be subject to theft (even less when the distance between the guest tables is greater than 3 meters). It would seem that the least we can do is to warn customers in advance of any reservation so that they can make it with full knowledge of the facts - and choose whether or not to be filmed. But obviously this situation only poses a problem for categories of customers like ours, no one having ever reported (before us) such discomfort before. We therefore conclude that we are completely unsuited to this type of culinary experience. The verbal exchange that we had with Mr. Frachot was of rare violence: trembling in front of a furious Mr. Frachot, he humiliated me "at your age Madam you should learn to control yourself". Mentioning the possibility of asserting my rights, Mr. Frachot then insulted me “go back to your life which must be pitiful”. So yes, Mr. Frachot, I use the “weapon of the weak” (social networks) to denounce and inform your future customers of your practices! Finally, let me just mobilize another weapon of the weak (the law) to remind you that in France, the presence of video surveillance cameras in a place open to the public must be justified. I therefore hope, Mr. Frachot, that your establishment meets the criterion of article L251-2-12 of the internal security code, namely "Ensuring the safety of people and property in places and establishments open to the public, when these places and establishments are particularly exposed to the risk of attack or theft. in which case it would be very wrong to dare to open the door of your Hostellerie... unless you want to be robbed by the rich!

Fabulous Lunch

Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!

Whose name will my reservation be under when I arrive at the venue?
It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!

Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from?
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered?
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
